*THE NEW* If your game crashes - Post here

Please include a DxDiag (see below) as well as the the following files:

*Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/warnings.log
*Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/configuration.lua
*Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/local.ini


How to make a DxDiag
1. Hold Windows Key and press R.
2. In the little window you get up, enter "DxDiag" (without ").
3. Let it gather info about your computer, it may take a minute or two.
4. Press "Save All Information", and save it eg. to your desktop.
5. Upload the file to us.

Additional Information
Please fill out the follow information as well.

*What map were you playing?
*Which factions were involved?
*What were you doing when the crash occurred? Try to be as accurate as possible!
*Do the crashes happen during every or almost every game?


Doing this helps us figure out the cause of the crashes easier, and fix them.

ok just a descriptive study of the crash nature minus the technicalities -- the game crashes more often now than before the patch v1.01. I have kept the control the same and the only thing new was the patch v1.01. Here I define a gaming session as a session consisting of a few sequential games of ONLY COH MAPS -- just to narrow down the likelihood that EF maps could affect the study. Skirmish mode was selected and a mix of AI factions were used; Soviets were always included (I have yet to try no Soviets on EF mod; maybe I should, but since EF mod, why exclude them?  :))

Pre-patch, the gaming session was somewhat stable but an occasional crash happens sometimes, and ctrl-alt-del would usually (not always) solve the crash.

However post-patch, every gaming session will always crash during the time spent playing it (not necessarily the 1st game), i.e. it is rare now that I can get past a gaming session w/o any crash! I get jittery everytime I play now since probability is a 100% crash the longer I play a gaming session...unless I play 1 game and quit, then launch and play again. Looks like stability got worse after the patch so much so I went back to play TOV (w/o launching from EF launcher) for the time being.

The conclusions of this crash study is that sth has changed with the patch v1.01 that has affected the gaming stability, since the control was kept the same, and no EF maps were used to reduce likelihood that EF maps could corrupt the study. Hope this information would be useful.

Please include the files said in the first post, without them it's almost impossible for us to figure out the reasons of the crashes.

I believe this happen after you installed the Launcher Update or the 1.01 Patch, right?

You installed into wrong directory ;)

Nah, I have numerous friends who installed perfectly, yet it still crash at least 50% of the time and for no apparent reason.

Nah, I have numerous friends who installed perfectly, yet it still crash at least 50% of the time and for no apparent reason.

I was talking to the guy above, he got a Launcher issue, I know the issue, I've seen it before and I know the cause of it.

Hi,

I can not start the launcher. If I do so, a .Net System.Security.SecurityException is thrown at the very beginning.

I assume this issue is linked to my NAS. COH and you MOD is installed on my local desktop pc. My "own documents folder" containing the logs etc. is located on the NAS.

I lowered .NET permission sets from the Internet and Intranet-Zone, but without success.

Any idea what else to do?

P.S.: No logs added because when I watched these, nothing about the tried start was written inside.

Okay guys. I played a couple matches yesterday, before patches 1.2 and 1.3 were applied. It ran fine for a few games. Then I tried to run a map on Stalingrad, and it didn't load. It loaded the game about 2/3 of the way, then froze. Waited 15 minutes, nothing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same thing, only now it's ANY map. It just will not load. Hello, I am getting Relic's "crash reporting window" after clicking  "Start eastern front".
-I have updated EF to 1.04
-I have updated COH to 2.601
-There is no extra .module files in coh root, only coh ones and EF ones.
-I have downloaded installer from this site
-All path downloads and installations have been completed without errors
-I am runnig EF launcher with admins rights
-Fire wall and anti virus program is not blocking anything

Jannev, the Zombie ucs is placed in a bad place (CoH/Engine/Local/english), and should be moved to "Zombie(or whatever the mod folder is called)/Local/English", or deleted.

this is a great mod the AI is amazing. however the constant game freeze make it unplayable
