M1938 Heavy Mortar
The heavy 120mm mortar packs quite a punch. It has a long reload time and big scatter radius, but also a wide range and big boom. Be sure to protect them carefully though from those german raiding units.

1. M1938 - is WRONG name.
2. long reload time??? Rate of fire is 15 shots/minute.
3. Accuracy is very perfect. During my Army servise, I have a  gunnery exercises with this mortar. I can say - it is DEADLY SHARP.

120mm Миномёт
Военное дело - Минометчик

Mortar was designed in 1938 as "120mm PM-38", in 1941 was little modified and renamed as "120mm PM-41".

In 1943, when almost all weapon was redesignated, mortar got new name: "120mm M-43".

In early 60-th, mortar was upgraded, and got il last (currect) name" - 1B11 "Sani"

It was SO exellent weapon, that it is in use still our day:

Gameplay (balance in this case) > realism.

Indeedy, this isn't reality, we need to keep it balanced.

Hmmm.. Yep, agree, You are right about balance. For example, according reality, ZiS-2 will easily kill every panzer exept Tiger - but for game, it is hard kick for balance.

But just give this "ingame" mine-throuwer a correct name :)

Just look at the German Granatwerfer. It's supposed to be able to fire 15-25 RPM, you can't tell me Relic has it fire that quickly in COH. :P

Eh. Yea. It's easy to say 'this isn't as reality!' but then you
have to see what it's balanced against. Of COURSE a Queen
is more powerful, but in real life, all pawns can jump on her
at once, just about. / Also bear in mind that in chess 1 hit
kills. Tank-tank combat also work like this.

... Not in COH. Want realism? Go play Men of War :)
 (got same mortar, too!!) :)

From other point of veiw, blaster of RED vs laser guns of BLUE are the best balance :)

But we play historycal strategy game :)

All fine here, mates - but please, give to our minethrower CORRECT name :)

1938-1941 - "PM-38"
1941-1943 - "PM-41"
1943-1960th - "PM-43"
1960th-1990th - "PM-120"
1990th-nowdays - "2B11"

Red vs BLUE laser beams... ;) Same as my white/black chess
analogy ;) Eh. Well, Men of War is more a historical strategy
game. COH is more... ah, arcadish?

 But they try, sorta... :)

Go look at the ISU152 which has no artillery traits and is
just a big JagPAnther... ;) Now, tell me what you think ;)
(Xcept it's not one shot only!) and tell me what you think ;)

As for the name, well... yea, that can be changed easily.
 PM - Personnal Mortar?

Should call it the PM-120 or PM-42 ;) (41-43 ahah)

There is a classification.

Structure of Soviet Army:
-Diviziya - Division
-Polk - Regiment
-Batallion (Divizion for Artillery) - Batallion
-Rota (Battery for Artillery) - Company

So, there is different kinds of Atillery weapon.

-Divizionnoye Orudie/Pushka/Minomyot (Division support Cannon/Howitzer/Mortar) - it is a 1 Battery of this weapon attached to Diviziya. Usually it is 76mm AT guns, or 122mm Howitzers, or 160mm Mortars.
-Polkovoye Orudiye/Pushka/Minomyot (Regiment support Cannon/Howitzer/Mortar) - it is a 1 Battery of this weapon attached to each Regiment in Division. Usually is is 45mm AT guns, and 120mm Mortars.
-Batalyonny Minomyot - 1 Battery attached to each Batallion of each Regiment. It is 82mm Mortar.

Also, there were Rotny Minomyot (50mm, same as German), 1 squad of 50mm Mortars attached to each Infantry Company of each Regiment.

SU152 had HOWITZER ML-20M inside, and it MUST be as Aertillery (Howitzer). And also as an heavy AT gun (russian soldiers called it "Zveroboj" - "Beast killer", as "Panther" and "Tigers" were "Beasts"). Usually 1 hit with 48,8kg was 100% lethal for ANY german panzer (even Konig-Tiger)

 - Still, what should it be called? I like 120mm mortar. Fixed
 all problems, still... ;)

 - Well, not in this game. In this game, the SU152 is a JagPanther :) Same firing rate, range, dmg... :)
Armor value, etc, etc :)

Nuuthing artillery about it whatsoever ;)
 Just different skin! :)

Wells its not a different skin obviously, its a new model. Besides, I doubt the devs would simply use the Jagdpanthers stats for the ISU-152

Jagdpanther was tank destroyer (equipped with AT GUN), appeared in 1944, 392 built.

SU152 and ISU152 were a HiGH-CALIBER HOWITZER equipped Self-propelled heavy assault gun/Heavy tank destroyer, both appeared in 1943, ~700 SU-152 + 1885 ISU-152 built.

Big difference.

True, but in the mod the ISU-152 is used only as an tank killer because having a tank that is effective against tanks and is able to work like a mobile artillery piece would be pretty unbalanced.

SU-100 for tankkiller as Jagdpanther,
SU-152 for mobile 152mm howitzer as Hummel mobile 150mm Howitzer would be more usefull :)
