Chances are there will be plenty of crap to come from making this but whatever.

Things that really pissed me off in orginal game that if made into a mod would make it 1 of the best are the following:
1. Lack of melee or the void that is no melee - no excuse why they couldnt have done some simple rifle butting but hell in the war 40% of all close encounters resulted in melee of some form or fashion.
2.Barb wire and tank traps - while it seemed all well and good at first it doesn't add up well with the real deal.. wire wasnt just made for area denial (granted YES it CAN be used for such) but it can also be used in aggressive offensive measures as well ex barb wire traps where they would dig a hole then fill in wire into etc. same can be said for tank traps as in they should have the chance to damage vehicle tracks.
3.Builder - This is at the bottom of things I didn't like about vanilla game but it could be done away with and just make it where latter on all factions can use any troop to make buildings (after all it was mostly soldiers and or pows making installations in the war anyway)

Another little bonus which could be big if done right is buildings you can garrison your tanks and vehicles in (ex hangers) after all did seem lame that in the mission you clearly see it happen when you have to hunt down the group of panthers and one comes out to ambush you from a hanger.

 - EF mod is calibrated upon Vanilla COH. It changes nothing
 to the original game, it ADDS an hopefully balanced Soviet
 faction, and then, as time permits, an Ostheer faction, and
 hopefully a campaign for both.
 - What you describe are fundamental changes to basic play.
 So it's an automatic meep. Barb wire damaging vehicular
 mobility, I have heard of, though.
 - Hanger Space : You'd need extra map space. As is, got
 barely space to put full spread of Base buildings ? I'd be
 interesting, though, if could GARRISSON homebase buildings
 (not just HQ or Bunkers). But you mean with Tanks as well
 (for tank depot, for example?) Interesting. I like. But, again,
 would be soviet only, if it were to be implemented (And
 Ostheer perhaps), but see no reason for those factions to
 be the only ones to have it.

 Side note : Iron Cross addon mod, you can garisson PE
 buildings with troops ;) And yea, regular troops are the
 ones building said homebase building. Just play PE more ;)
