Soviet Tank Hunters.

Well, I'm new here so I'm not sure if this question has been posted before. Anyway, the Tank Hunters come equipped with that PTRS rifle right? If it's good against vehicles and can pierce their armor, does that mean it's super bad-ass against infantry?

Tank Hunters use the PTRD rifle. It is most effective in swarms against halftracks. The beta suggested that it needed nerfing against infantry, so it has a similar anti-inf effectiveness to most vanilla AT weapons.

I dunno, I kinda like the idea of a long range infantry unit.  Low accuracy and rof but high firepower and range.  Weak if engaged but an excellent harassing unit kinda like a sniper but not as powerful.  To see the looks on the enemy players face as he is capping a point and you see shots coming in pinging of the ground until a lucky shot blows a grenadier apart.

That's what I was kinda hoping for. Seeing some German getting cut in half by a super big round. I see how rockets have some trouble hitting infantry, but being a rifle, it makes sense to have more accuracy.

 Exactly. Like bazookas. Bad accuracy, but a hit is an auto-kill!

We call those insta-gibs and they aren't reliable tactically speaking. I support nerfing PTRDs versus infantry for exactly that reason.

 Well Panzershrek grenadiers do keep 2 regular weaponry
 soldiers (K98s?). A 4 man squad of PTRDs ought to be about
 the same. Mind you, Panzershreks are more evil against tanks,
 compared to PTRDs. I'm fine with PTRDs squads being better
 against infantry as a result? They'll additonnally be nerfed
 against buildings, so... what is left to them to justify their
 4 pop and continued existence?

 - BTW - I think they ought to have british bren ability of
 'button up' :)

 Well, replying in russian means less people can understand it,
 though. As for a kickass big gun that can 'fasten' ? tanks, well,
 it's not new. Even Germans had anti tank rifles way back when
 they invaded Poland, yknow.

 As for paying money to see this... well, the dev team accept
 voluntary donations, so I heard ;)

 Well, Bren guns can do it. PTRD should, too. Otherwise, they're
 a 4 pop weaker bazooka gren squad (with ambush ability)...
 Heck, shrek gren can even put wire/sandbags, and throw
 grenades and capture at +50% speed... ;)
