Application for a gun modeler
« on: September 12, 2007, 03:11:33 AM »
Name:Kevin
Age:15
Ill give an email address later
What you think you can contribute to our mod: I can make accurate models of guns as long as I have sufficient pictures of the gun.
How active you think you can be: 1 hour a day on weekdays. about 5/6 hours on Saturday. None Sunday.
Previous work: Haven't worked on any official projects just practiced easy modeling until I got better.
Examples of your work: I have a svt-40 (name could be wrong) Its one of the guns on the list of weapons in this mod. Took me at most 1 hour.

The best texturing I can do is what you see in the picture. Its the basic coloring in 3ds max.

How many polys is that? Right now most of the bear basic weapons have been completed, there are still some like the SVT-40 and other machine guns that need to be done. Also, CoH has a very, very low poly count on there weapons...

Something like the Garand is around 200, so we have been staying close to that.

wow. that sucks. Mines like over 2000. I've never had to make a model with a certain number of polys. If there is anything else I could do to help, I'll be glad to do it if I can.

Could you make that model again, but with less polys? Then we can see how good you are with CoH.

This ones 295 polys and it doesn't have a scope. (Didn't know if you guys wanted it with a scope) I could add a scope with the addition of about 30-40 polys.

Cool, looks mostly the same without all the extra polygons. The butt ain't right though, too round, original was better. Im sure you can fix that without adding any polygons.

I've never tried making building before but I'm sure I could get it. Do you have any reference pictures of what you are looking for?

Are you looking for the base structures or environment structures? Also how many polys does one a normal building in the game have?
