PPSH 41 stick mags
« on: November 22, 2013, 02:35:42 AM »
Is there any chance that some units could use PPSH's with stick mags instead of drum mags? because later in the war some soviet troops such as shock troopers (represented by sturmovie ingenrie assault gear) started using stick mags instead of drums.

"One problem that PPSh-41 suffered from was the unreliable drum magazine. Initially made of stamped metal only 0.5 mm thick it was prone to deformations leading to jams. It was also relatively expensive to produce, and fairly slow to load with bullets. It was mostly superseded by simpler box-type magazine holding only 35 rounds."

If you could just be enabled through rewards menu or something along those lines it would be nice.

i was told to move this here instead of having it inside general suggestions so sorry if you've already seen it

We do see the PPS-43, which is an even easier-to-produce version of the PPSH-41 with a stick mag.  It's seen on the Shock Infantry for the Soviets with Breakthrough doctrine and the Command Squad with the upgrade.

All I could tell is an aesthetic addition, it wouldn't be at the top of the list if it were decided to be put in.

Only the Sturmovie Ingenery and the Strelky squads use this weapon(Partisans too, but I'd not count them due to using multiple weapons), and IMO they look more "badass" with the drum magazine. It is possible to add it though.
