IS-3 or ISU-152?

What are your reasons that you'd choose one over the other?

I like being able to call in another ISU-152 if the first one died, although the IS-3 is just better. Another thing I like about the ISU is it's barrage ability. Since the soviets can only get ONE arty firebase, you need all the arty support you can get and unlike katyushas, the ISU's barrage can actually hit stuff! Not to mention it operates better than katyushas outside it's barrage ability as a great killer of tanks and infantry.

I prefer ISU 152, but that's mostly because I like Assault Guns/Tank Hunters more than main battle tanks. However, in urban areas the IS 3 is superior to the ISU because it's more mobile and has a turret, so it's more maneuverable.

Abuse is abuse and has to go.

So you like the ISU-152 even though the IS-3 is better? That's unusual. Well, what are your reasons for saying IS-3 is better?

This makes sense. I like the idea of dedicated Tank Hunters/Killers but main battle tanks have more versatility and can handle more situations. Then again I like the idea of raw firepower which the ISU-152 can bring.

But the question is even though the ISU-152 does more damage per shot compared to IS-3, which is the better tank killer? I have a feeling it's the IS-3 since even though it has slightly lower damage per shot, it still does more DPS compared to ISU-152 since it reloads faster. Am I correct in this?

Yes. in 1.7.0.0/1.8.0.0 the ISU is pretty weak. it deals roughly 2/3 of a Tiger I DPS. this will change with 2.0.0.0 though. the ISU will receive some tweaks here and there just like the IS3 will.

Abuse is abuse and has to go.

the IS-3 seems to have more armor and health aswell. It even has some good speed to it and a turret so firing on the move is an option. I guess why I said the IS-3 is "better' is because it's more of a brawler and it is capable of more strategies than the ISU. Once again i mostly like the ISU better because it's death is not as big of a deal as the IS-3 so I don't need to be so motherly toward it.

The IS3 is basically the allied supertank, so it behaves like one (maybe a bit too well sometimes though)
