Hey guys,

I've just downloaded and installed EF. I'm using the retail CoH Anthology. Everything seems fine til I actually try to play the game, I'll create a game, the map will load and the "press any key" button will show. I'll press a key and then for a split second I can see the HQ building of my team on the map and then the game will crash. This happens for every team. No settings are on Ultra and the RelicDownloader is not running. Warnings and scarlog below.

Eastern Front v1.8.0.1 is only compatible with the latest version of CoH which is 2.700, and you can get it only with Steam.

You can get more information in our announcement for the patch.

Greetings!
I also have a problem on launching multiplayer on 1.801.

I have the steam version (latest), and EF is launching properly, I can play Campaign and skirmish, but as soon as I click on multiplayer it crashes on desktop. Any ideas?

  • Find the .dmp file that was created at the time of the crash

Please provide the following information as well.

*What map were you playing?
*Which factions were involved?
*What were you doing when the crash occurred? Try to be as accurate as possible!
*Do the crashes happen during every or almost every game?
*What game mode were you playing?


Doing this helps us figure out the cause of the crashes easier, and fix them. Posts without any relevant information will be deleted.

My game crashes to desktop when I hit " multiplayer"  in the main menu
also when I try to join a friend's game, it crashes to desktop, making playing with friends impossible..

Are you using the latest version of EF (1.800) on retail CoH? Then that's why you have the crash.

Same problem here with Steam version

I had first the "Could Not Verify Media" error on Steam Version. Was solved by adding some parameters to CoH startup options in Steam.

CoH loads and display the Eastern Front logo. I select Skirmish mode, choose the Russian army ... and when pressing the "Press Any Key", I'm back to desktop and game is crashed

Eastern front new install (never installed before) and .... not sure it is relevant : CoH 2 beta installed.

Averelld, you need to use the one called "Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)" in your Steam Library

I'm also having this problem with version 1.8.0.1 and Ostheer 1.0.0.4, I cant play any MP games without out a crash in most cases (The oddest part being it sometimes works...).

You need to post your warnings.log files, not these ones. These ones you posted don't save anything related to the crash most of the time.

i think you guys should make a announcement post somewhere in the forum so people can know that the highest patch of eastern front mod they can get with CoH v2.602 retail is 1.7.2.1 and for beta user max osther beta patch is 1.0.0.3. Later patch version for non beta user is 1.8.0.0 and 1.0.0.4 version of osther is for 2.700 (new steam) version of CoH.

I don't even have the old retail version installed anymore
I will try to reinstall everything CoH-related this afternoon, and see if it works

Skorch, you need the Steam-version,
not the retail-version, see this post to see how to update/fix this:
Eastern Front v1.8.0.1 is only compatible with the latest version of CoH which is 2.700, and you can get it only with Steam.
