Are we planning to stay alive?
« on: May 15, 2013, 09:55:58 PM »
Hi all.
I decided to make my thoughts public in the light of recent apparent decline in mod's activity. Are we guys going to stay alive and keep going? The news from developers are scarce, the forum sees no new threads in the recent days. I still remember the times when people were passionate about this mod, looking forward to the Ostheer release. Is it just me or is the mod slowly dying away? I really hope it isn't. It used to be my mod of choice because of the best AI among the vCoH and other CoH mods and a new Red Army "race" . It would still be but for the Steam commotion.
Anybody else here alive who could share my opinion?

I don't share your opinion.  The Ostheer beta is happening even now.  That is likely where most of the activity is happening.  The fix for the Steam version is coming.

Pretty much the truth. Except that the steam version is out.

I've played coh 2 for a total of six hours in the past 2 days (it's now gone from the hdd :-)) and it is horrible. So I am very much optimistic of the EF prospects. Hopefully many of the coh crowd will be back to coh1 soon and will still be craving for the red army experience, so yeah, that's where my hopes rest.

I would play but there are so few players available to play with. I guess now are the times when eveybody migrated to coh2. That game its so fucking horrible but its still being played by 12000 ppl. I think i never seen a worse optimized game ever. I mean, i get 60+ fps in Bf3, and in this awful piece of crap Company of clowns i get like 15-20 when the blizzard comes.

I hate it how people just look at graphics and how it runs - there's a reason why it's called "BETA."  Does anyone bother to look past that part?

I like our portarayal of the Soviets better. If you want to zerg rush over the opponent and want your units to last less than a minuet then you probably would prefer the COH2 soviets

To I absolutely agree with you it's really a poor game and I don't like it too .
But it's popular game and it is fact .

This may, or may not be off topic, but how different will the final version of COH2 be as opposed to the BETA version?  The game took some getting used to and the vehicle detail for example sucks but will some of the obvious shortcomings be fixed prior to release?

Just curious.

Aside from balance, little has changed from its beta version, Foofighter.

I hope this mod doesn't die because I really do not like COH2 so I'm depending on this mod for COH entertainment. this and The Great War. I'm just frustrated how long its taken for Ostheer to come out but at least when it does it'll be better than COH2.

I'd say boldly that the mod never has been more active behind the scenes, there were times when things were way worse than at the moment, and this will stay until we release the Ostheer, and will continue afterwards :)
