Can´t start the game
« on: July 10, 2011, 03:04:51 PM »
Hey,

I can´t start the game, when i press play it says; Eastern Front mod is up to date.
I tried to follow this;

"Could not locate RelicCoH.exe" OR "Game is up to date" OR "Nothing Happens" when clicking play.
Your installation location is likely wrong, could also be directory in settings is wrong. Check these first. However the most common case for this is that you are using Steam Version, where it cannot auto select the install folder. Uninstall Eastern Front and then reinstall it. You must manually switch the install folder to CoH folder. Normally "C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Company of Heroes" (Steam Version) or "C:/Program Files/THQ/Company of Heroes" (None-Steam Version).  Remember to look at "C:/Program Files (x86)" if you use x64 OS.

If you get "Game is up to date" and you have installed it on the right path, open EF launcher; go to Settings, then check if CoH Directory option has the correct path otherwise fix it.

But it doesn't work, or i really just don't know the correct path.
Where do i have to link it to? to what directory?
I'm not using steam btw.

You forgot to:

  • Add your CoH path.
  • Add screenshots of your CoH directory.

Otherwise we would be guessing. The default path should be on program files\thq\company of heroes.

Looks like you messed up your CoH files, because you have all your CoH files and folders scattered around on Program Files folder, also you have a Company of Heroes folder inside CoH folder, perhaps that's your real Company of Heroes folder...

Are you sure you have an original copy?

When i asked for a screenshot of your CoH directory, i expected a screenshot showing the windows explorer with your CoH directory, not this ^^.

I would suggest to uninstall it, once done make sure all the related files/folders from CoH are deleted. Then reinstall CoH in the partition you want. Then install EF 1.40, remember that you need to update to 2.602 in order to play.

Unless you can't uninstall it...

Reinstall CoH, update it to 2.602 and then install EF.

Otherwise you can try checking what have you done till now.

Have you installed EF over Program files folder or you used program files\CoH\Company of Heroes one?
