Eastern Front Mod install guide for steam users, unable to locate COH directory + everything else!
This Process should fix every problem with Eastern Front for steam users
Directions may vary from Win7, XP, and Win Vista
1. Uninstall Everything COH - OF - TOV - EF
2. Make sure you have Directx and C++ 2005 redlist installed
3. Install COH - OF - TOV - (don not install EF yet) install one at a time. INSTALL ONE play
one for a couple seconds in game mode than do OF than TOV. This kicks off processes that are
needed to complete install. Steam install alone is not enough.
4. Because you just installed COH - OF - TOV through steam you have the most recent
versions. Go to Steam Rightclick on COH go to properties than go to updates tab and change
auto update to do not auto update. This will Prevent Relicdownloader from messing with your
mod. Do this for all three COH OF TOV
5. Now we need to make sure game files are verified. go into steam library right click on
COH go to properties than the local files tab and press verify integrity of game cache do
this for all three
6. Check to see wich version of COH you have you can do this by going into the game (COH)
and look at the bottom of the main menu. If it says 2.602.0 You have the most recent version
(for today aug 2011) IF YOU DONT Install Patch EN_2601_2602 MAKE SURE TO RUN AS ADMIN
7. Install EF to C:/Programfiles (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/companyofheroes (YOU MUST
install EF to the same place as the COH stuff) DO NOT open EF yet
8. Go to EF.EX in C:/Programfiles (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/companyofheroes Right Click
on the EF launcher.exe go to compatibilty than go to the bottom run program as admin apply
than hit ok.
9. Launch it make sure its updated don't hit play go up to the top hit settings go to bottom
right where it says COH Directory hit select. Than go C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
\steamapps\common\company of heroes hit ok and press play and your good to go. ENJOY
(TIP) Don't worry if you don't have a couple of the expansions ( i looked, and saw some
people online that did not have anything except COH)
(TIP) Remember Some Operating systems have Program Files or Program Files (x86) wich ever
one you have just change on the guide
