A few questions
« on: April 04, 2011, 05:52:18 AM »
First, let me say I love this mod and the fact that any map can be played, including most of the custom maps people have designed.

My first question is: Is there a list of patch notes somewhere?  I know they pop up after installation, but I can't seem to find a txt document in the folders.  Or, is there one online somewhere?  Thanks.

Secondly, I noticed back when that there is a lot of stuff that is supposedly able to be done when playing as the soviets.  I haven't really been able to do a lot of them, though.  Things like squad functions or commander options.

Third, when playing online with friends and choosing the Eastern Fronts maps...we usually play 2-4 Humans vs 3-4 AI/NPCs.  Most of the Easter Front Maps end up crashing and sending us all to desktop.

Are we missing something when playing this game, or what?

Any information is appreciated.

All Patch notes detailing changes are here -

If your game is crashing I would suggest lowering your graphics settings. Also, larger maps crash quite often when you have many CPU players or a lot of units on the field (like in no-pop cap games). It's just the limitations of the game, nothing we can really do about it.

We are pretty sure it is not our computers, as the maps tend to crash at exactly the same point when we try to play them, and also - we all crash out at the same time.  If it was my computer or his computer, or whoever...that person would drop, leaving their army to the AI and the other players could continue.

I already have the settings pretty low, but really don't need them that low, as I have a Quad-Core PC with a 1GB GTS250 video card and 4GB of RAM with Vista 64-bit.  This PC is way beyond the PCs this game was designed for.

I'm hoping someone else with these problems can chime in or perhaps someone that has an idea why the maps cause a crash.

Thanks again.

Please upload warnings.log and relevant .dmp

Information where to find them can be found in a stickies thread in bug & tech support, don't remember which one.

Thanks.  We haven't tried any of the EF maps recently, so I am not sure which dumplog is relevant.

I will suggest one tonight and if the crash result ensues, I will upload the files here.

@CrazyIvan
You need to post your warnings.log located on "Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes" and your dump file, located on your temp folder.

In my previous post you can find a link where it explains how to locate your dump file.

Try lowering your settings, or making a shorcut to avoid using the launcher and always make sure RelicDownloader doesn't run while playing EF. When you run EF, close RelicDownloader, if EF starts before you can do it, press Alt+TAB and finish him ;).

Here you go.  None of the COHxxxxx.DMP files correspond with today's date.  The latest one was modified 12/3/2010

EDIT - removed links

Whoops, you can't open that...how do I post the file? can I attach it here?

I put those 2 warning logs into a zip here:

Your log has this weird lines at the end but don't know why, perhaps Rizz or Cope could lend us a hand.
