So how does a Schwimmwagen gain veterancy without any offensive abilities? ???

As Brits, it shouldn't be too hard to block off the choke points with your emplacements, and then build 25-Pounders to pummel the Axis bases from safety. Rushing in with infantry and Brencarriers is stupid when you have so many emplacements you can build.

As Americans i usually go Infantry, so i get access to nice Howitzers.

As for the Luftwaffe; I always found them to be pretty pathetic combatants. I like to use them for building and repairing, but not fighting.

Schwimwagen gets only defensiv vet like the bergetiger, ammohalftrack and vampire.

The problem of the brits: Their howitzer & emplacments can be destroyed very easily. Also howitzer are only good against infantry. In the last game they manage to destroy my HQ only once and then I repaired it with my Bergetiger and the arty shells just bounced of the Tiger :P.

Yeah, but how does it gain veterancy though? Don't units have to fight and score kills to increase in veterancy?

They get it by "watching" units how they kill. It's the same as if you place a mortar halftrack next to your base flak. The flak will earn vet too.

Retreat the starting unit and it will rush with the HQ on the middle island really fast. Make a trench or wait for reinforcements.

Fixed if your HQ truck is not set up they will retreat to a HQ of your allies.

Brits are the weakest faction on Scheldt but anyway I like how they attempt to rush me everytime and always lose their 2 breens and their starting unit.

No, because they will rush to the closet HQ, even undeployed it is still the truck, I tried it many times and it works fine ...

Hmm... I noticed they will sometimes go to their H.Q., sometimes their allies, and sometimes their call-in point...

All this depends on the situation I guess, normally they go to allies HQ but if there are two brits (don't ask me why there are two there just are) and both have undeployed trucks they go to their own HQ.

(Don't you just love it when your busily fighting Brits and their command truck goes past so you take it out instead...)
