Hi im a veteran RTS gamer although relatively new to CoH and Eastern Front, i've got some grasp on how to play with SU and managed to beat PE and Wehr on various maps.

However somehow i cant be able to beat PE in that particular map(Kharkov) when i choose Breakthrough Strategy, I'm kind of history geek so i try to represent the battle of kharkov using breakthrough to get access to lots of armoured vehicles, but PE gets halftracks so early that i cant keep the pace and i end up loosing all my ground and getting cornered to my base without even putting out a tank :/

Get Tankhunters with upgrade "Men against tank" and use them to support AT guns from flanking. Guards' AT grenades aslo rip HTs apart.

CoH is a game where you have to know what units you need to counter the enemy strategy. Rarely are you able to just tech the way you please. Halftracks should get destroyed quickly by anything, including conscripts, but if you're having real trouble use the aforementioned THs.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

+1. Agreed with Dennis. Though "Men Against Tanks" is essential, and reduces the need for many TH's.

Thanks

I managed to win this time hehe

I think my problem was that i was spending too much manpower on not so needed "outposts", thats 250mp that you could use to get MOAR conscripts.

and yeah 3 tank hunter squads w/ men against tank + 1 AT gun, was enough to deal with PE light armoured vehicles for  3/4 of the match, in the last part i added 2 shermans and 1 Su-85 to face the heaviest tanks that PE threw and thanks to the Mechanics i only lost 1 sherman :D

While outpost are useful because you can reinforce from them, garrison them, and they give you additional resources, you shouldn't put an outpost on every single one. (Unless you're winning like crazy and have about 1000 manpower to kill)

Next time try putting them on the High Fuel and High Ammo points, it gives the most benefits there.

^^ Yep! These are supposed to be placed strategically  ;D
A side-note: don't place your infantry inside outposts, unless you're really forced to do so:
1) squads can't reinforce, while they're in there,
2) they all die the moment the outpost is destroyed.

Instead, just use your ingenery to build a small area of green cover somewhere around, if needed.
