A Tiger rebuild or specifically designed to be a command tank if I understand the discription correctly.
Cheers

yeah, I also thought something like that. But i've searched for more command tanks, and they all look the same as the normal tiger..

it actually would be pretty cool, if they put this in the Ostheer  ;D

Its an Elephant chassie.
There were 2 Tiger I prototypes, this one is made by Porshe.
Henshels version was better but Porshe allready build 80 chassies.
So they used them to build Ferdinands.
Its interesting that this Tiger got stuck on Eastern Prussia swamps when being tested in 1942 (near my home town) and Henshels Tiger had to pull it out. :D Hitler saw the whole thing. :D

Like Paciat already said, this is the Tiger model that Porsche contributed to the competition for a new heavy tank, the Tiger. Only Porsche and Henschel were participating, and Henschel won. Porsche, who was sure to win, had build 90 chassis before, and those were made to the famous Ferdinands. One of the vehicles that Porsche built served as command tank for the s.Pz.Jg.Abt. 653 on the Eastern Front.

In my opinion it looks like a T34 which got squished a bit by the turret of a Tiger :P

Yep Tico is right, it looks indeed like a squished T34. But that's not accidently - the Germans were so impressed by the concept of the T34, that they started to build prototypes equal to it - With a turret placed very far at the front of the hull, equal to T34's one. There was a concept for a new medium tank that reminds you at the T34 when you look at it. It's called VK 3002 -> http://www.achtungpanzer.com/images/vk3002db.jpg (Versuchskonstruktion = trial construction) and was developed by Daimler-Benz in November 1941.
In the end the end MAN's concept was taken, the Panther as you know, which was promising faster series-production readiness.

The sexiest tanks i can think of are M26 Pershing, Panzer III M and the StuG III :P

You are absolutely right with M24 and M16, I think the Tiger is also sexy but it's parts are just flat and kinda boring.. though.. its sexy 88  ;D
Also I dislike the tigers hull, the wheels don't look that good. I prefer Panzer III and IV ones, also these of the late-war american tanks.
