[Updated 9/15/10][1.23] Team Leutnant (Yau and Snugz) Replaypack

Hey all, my partner Leutnant Snug is away for a bit, so I played some 2v1s against my friends recently to challenge myself.  They didn't pull any punches, and neither did I, so the games turned out to be pretty close (especially the one versus dual American), and I think they'll be pretty entertaining.  Just thought I'd share if anyone is interested.

Doesn't the normal PZIV commander cause issue when you get vet2? I mean is it automatically replaced by the MG gunner?

Well, we figure that infantry is still infantry and is too vulnerable to arty, strafe, crush, and all sorts of abuses, so we use vehicles whenever resources allow to fight Allied blobs.  Brit stacked LT blob > Axis infantry.  I usually go T3 if fuel allows.  Doesn't matter how hard any soldiers skull is; it still can't compare to the cold hard steel of a vehicle right?

Private skinpack, because I mixed many many different works from many different skinners and modders.  I even edited some of their work.

For the P4 commander and Henschel KT, I used Tankdestroyer's and Halftrack's mod files.  If you make the commander as a state instead of an upgrade, it won't effect the way the P4 performs in-game (stats), and it will be compatible with CoH online.  I used Celestial's "How to make Tiger commanders" tutorial on that one.  Therefore, my P4s look like they have a commander even at vet2-3, but the top MG42 stats will still be doing damage.  "Invisible MG42".

For more information on this you can check the CoH Ammo Box; I've had to make a thread asking about how to implement the commader myself.

PS: Can the Devs (if they find the time) please help me find a way to get my skinpack working for EF online?  It works 100% with normal CoH so idk whats the issue...  I've been trying everything and still no avail.

Thanks for watching guys  ;D

Hey Yau aka Chancellor made the skins himself useing other people's material so the pack is private and not official due to "copy rights/credit" Since we can't get skins working properly in Online EF games, they only work with offline skirmish games or while watching replays (Theyre 100% working with vcoh tho)

If your interested in them you could try asking Chancellor for permission to install them for private use.

best regards Snugz

I've watched a few of these, and they're not bad some pretty interesting play going on.

however i notice a strange tactic with the mortar halftracks, (this happened in a number of games by different players). they grouped the mortar halftracks.
I am intrigued as to why.

Because it's easier to target two halftracks than one, more vulnerable to arty return fire, and with a decent flanking manouvre that's considerable loss of manpower and fuel.

and they were often firing at the same target, i don't see why this is necessary. This isn't to say that they aren't effective when both firing on the same target but, quite the contrary it's doubly effective. But it means you've sacrificed some of that mortar power (which i think is a huge bonus to the PE, especially vs Soviets) holding one area.

One more thing. do more flanking.
I know 20/20 hindsight, but i still find it odd.

Actually i thought the Wirblewind was used pretty effectively when it was used.
What i did notice (i know another gripe sorry), is a lack of using infantry to support armour pushes.

I guess they may have been grouped up because of the lack of AT in their strat. They had to group them together with the AT halfs so that they could treadbreak (not 'threadbreak' :D) and be able to defend them.

Love the term 'Octapus'. I'm so gonna use that.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Updated September 15, 2010.

Regarding 2v1s, to all the newer / less skilled EF players put there, perhaps instead of hiding in skirmish / Leningrad / locked games, you could challenge better players using this method.  That way, we get more PvP.
