Any Civ Fans?
« on: September 12, 2010, 09:38:53 PM »
Good morning, everybody! Do we have any CIV players here on Eastern Front? I was hoping to discuss about the upcoming Civilization 5 with you guys. What do you like about the upcoming title? What don't you like? Are you going to get it? Tell me about it below.
Btw, Civ was my first PC game ever!

I love Civ i remeber when i was 3 i used to play Civ 2, I didn't know much of what was going on, but i loved it.

The new Civ 5 is a little weird.... The old mechanics such as unit stacking are gone and there are now units that can indirectly attack other units (kinda like Arty from 3 and 4) Also i heard that the game will be scripted in Lua and use Hexagonal tiles (inspired by Panzer Commander from what i have read), cities will expand along more favorable terrain (such as avoiding desert and going for more fertile lands), and their will be nations that have a second unique unit or a unique buildings

I want to get it because i love the Civ series but im worried about the new changes being a little drastic.

I like it more, because war is actually going to take some preparation and strategy! Previously all you had to do was play it with "Stacks of Doom".  The ranged units are very vulnerable, and you cant spam units due to resources which can be depleted! Anyway I'll see you online when we both get the game soon!
