THE bonus unit jagdpanzer

 Im not quite sure why the jagdpanzer is considered a bonus. The hetzer due to its abilities to camoflauge,upgrade sight, and use mg, is a far far better weapon than is the jagdpanzer. Furthermore myself and others would love to see some sort of upgrade on the jagdpanzer. It is a great unit and is welcomed with open arms in this comunity, but its lack of practical use as compared to the hetzer is undeniable. Can anyone think of some good upgrades for it? Rapid fire perhaps?

The jadgtiger has better weapon damage and higher Hit-points. I depends what type of person you are. A sneaky ambush guy, or a attack with force guy.

seeme is right. so it's not just a hetzer without camo. it trades camo for additional damage which should be considered a bonus. as for the upgrage that could be a spotting scope like on the hetzer or a longer gun for more damage or panzerschürzen for better AT protection. but i'm not sure if the jagdpanzer needs an upgrade. i think it's fine the way it is.

edit: i can't find the quote, but i remember that the jgdpanzer had more damage than the hetzer.

The Wehrmacht has Jagdtiger...this topic is about Jagdpanzer IV if im right. Only one thing which i would like to see on this jagdpanzer is actually its skin, the current one doesnt fit in the vanilla PE skins...

Yes i was refering to the jagdpanzer, not jagdtiger. I just think without anything to give it an edge that is at least on par with hetzer, it is a useless unit in comparison to the hetzer. In other words, why use it if hetzer is better. Does anyone know for a fact if the jagdpanzer has different stats than the hetzer and if so what are they in comparison?

It's like Seeme said I depends what type of person you are . I don't know why you don't see it as a bonus unit. Do you think it needs cammo to be a bonus unit?

If it has to be upgraded, I would say, give it the Pak 42 L/70(panther cannon, now they have PaK 39 L/48 same as Hetzer).

If the Hetzer has MG doesn't care at all, it isn't works as AI, you'll need real AI support if you face infantry.

I'll add that hetzer camo is utterly useless in actual combat. Camo just doesn't work on a turretless tank destroyer. It can pretty much only be used to hide when you're extremely low health and limping away from a battle so you can hide and repair it later.

Blackbishop's post is most helpfull indeed. I've played a million games as PE+TH to determine the capabilities of the JagdIV, cos I was a bit bored to look over the stats

Can I ask now about the target tables, upkeep, popcap, LOS? Are they identical to the Hetzer's? (Since you're not referring to them separetely )

Finally, what target type is the JagdIV? Hetzer, I presume?

Just a small input to what blackbishop has already said...

Jagpanzer gets additional armoured skirts with vet.

Basic stats match the Stug but pop is the same as a hetzer

Overall you sacrifice AI for more AT power and better survivability...its a 'true' tank hunter
