A small list of some things.
« on: August 02, 2010, 07:11:20 PM »
Well- Registered here just to post this.

Hopefully this helps in some ways or so. Thats the only reason I really post this.

- Manpower points + Posts = Broke?
As US I placed an Observation Post on the Manpower point and it had NO effect. I blew it up and checked my manpower per minute, then kept watching it while rebuilding the post. And it did not change. Exactly the same with the Russian Outposts. If this is on purpose- Please.. Change it back, or let it be an option.

- Katshyuka and Airbourne.

I brought in 3 Katshyukas when I was truying out the Russian support command tree. And it said something along the lines of "This ability is unavaible right now." Same when I had three airbourne squads. The Katshyuka- Understandble. But the American Airbourne needs their troops really. The airplanes cost immensely making them fairly pointless in my opinion and that of everybody so far I have played with. Yet it is my favorite tree- As I am an airbourne fan by heart. The AT guns are useless without some sort of support. And the final ability is fairly good for getting fuel, munitions and a Mortar/MG. But the restriction you have made of 3 Airbourne squads only is ridicilous. Might aswell go armour or the other infantry tree if you wish to get infantry or tanks. Because 3 airbourne squads does not fill up your pop cap. And you'd have to build extra tanks/infantry. Then you may aswell have rangers/a pershing with the tanks. Please- Change the Airbourne thing.

I shall be playing alittle more to try and find more bugs so I can help out- Or try to. I could also serve as a dutch translater (Belgium) if you do not have such yet. I'd also like to recommend making it a Steam mod- So it has overlay. As it does not work as "Non-steam game" as it goes through the launcher.

1) I want believe you started play at CoH recently if you say this. ;)

2) The limit at the number of Katyusha Rocket-Launcher and Airborne Troops I think devs has been made to avoid spam of these units.
If you are a spammer in basic-ranked game, I advise you to changing your "Game Philosophy" (if you play on EF)  ;)
If P-47 and AT gun are useless I'm Santa Claus...try it for believe :D

Greetings

Nope. I've had CoH for a long time-

And. I understand that Katyushka or whatever its called. But honestly? Airbourne are just infantry. Their anti-tank equipment costs LOTS of munitions, as do planes. So Airbourne command tree is now USELESS unless munitions and manpower cost gets taken down in general :/

those "manpower points" that you speak of, are strategic points which are just for connecting territory and expanding your popcap. It has nothing to do with manpower,
manpower is controlled by the upkeep cost of your troops,
The more units the less manpower you get.
Thought somebody would know that if he has had coh for a long time..

And about airborne doctrine tree
It's just how you use it, every unit needs support, so does the airdropped at just like the normal at. It can save your ass btw, but the hardcap on the airborne troops are just to prevent the AI from spamming them. This is done with every doctrinal unit, ranges, Kat's and call's etc.

and it thought you could play it through steam.. you just have to put it in the steam folder where vCoh is. But i don't know exactly about that, cuz i don't play through steam.
And btw there is no dutch translation for coh, plus it would look lame.. nederlandse vertalingen zien er meestal erg achterlijk uit bij een engels spel :P

You do get (aprox) +3 manpower per min for each point you have (not just strageic point but all!) With an OP/Outpost you get (aprox) +4 manpower per min from that point. However it's about 0.7 = won't show up (8.6 + 0.7 = 9.3, both times it will show +9 total per min).

Also to outpost a stat point, will have you about 3½ hours to get your manpower you spent back! (= useless)

Look  ::)

Honestly, I play many 1v1 Ranked games with USA and often I choose Airborne CT because I think it has the best versatility then Infantry and Armour.
Airborne CT allows you to deploy At guns without building the Garage, immediatly and where do you want on the battlefield (exept in the FoW).
Also, Paratroopers's Bazooka is, with Panzershrek, the best anti-tank weapon for infantry and hit all German's tank's armor. (125 ammo cost is so much for upgrade but yo must only secure an ammo point +10/+16  for cover this cost ;))
You need Mg/Mortar or other resources? Drop the Reinforcement  :D
You need to scout an enemy sniper for counter it? P-47 Recon.

I repeat...Try it  ;D
