Well if someone already post this topic i am sorry and can you please send me the links? I may have missed it when finding it.

It is possible that AI can be intelligent enough to hold a location such as the victory point? By building sandbags, Wires, Anti-tank traps, hide in building and even build a bunker near the victory point? The AI infantry will hold it until to they their last drop blood.

Or

AI capture and build a Outpost in a civilian building and build sandbags, wires and all those stuff above?

I am just curious, no games in skrimish has ever made that before. Only in campaign.

-Details Section-

-Can AI can build and hold on a valueble position until they die?

-Can the AI sent in reinforcements like infantry if needed?  (If 1st question is yes )

-Can they counter attack it? ( If 1st question says yes )

Please no dirty language

Some AI improvements can be done (like katiusha not driving to enemy base). I also noticed that AI will go for the VP if hes low on it.

Anyway its not possible to create a good AI that builds sandbags etc., becouse youll probably would kill it when its building or recapture its defensive lines.
All AI will be ever able to do is cap quickly, form random blobs, micro his troops (basic micro) and mass his troops near VPs (without a good plan).

AI in EF behaves somewhat better then in Relic CoH, it blobs more, mix various units and IS actually defending some important spots - like building a bunker or MG nest on specific locations (predefined). On the other hand as Paciat wrote, AI behaves sometimes very odd, like sending Katyushas into enemy base or spamming Partisans or Mechanics. I think the spam of doctrinal units could be caused with "Stuck building progress" bug when building a unit which is at same time upgraded in Armory. It applies only on Soviets for obvious reason.

Programming good AI has one catch - PC just don't see the things the human player do. I realized it when we programmed own games with my brother on 8bit Atari or 16bit Amiga looong time ago (in the 80's/90's). You need to determine somehow with algorytm what action is need to be taken - and that's the main problem because it is hard to code situation on battlefield according to which AI needs to decide because so many variables. What AI programmer actually CAN do is to program some templates according to which AI acts and switch among those when situation changes. This of course leads to schematic AI which could be read after couple of games and therefore AI will not surprise worthy opponent.

Building things like bunkers, sandbags etc could be only hardcoded and related to individual maps because otherwise AI would build those things on very silly places making it vulnerable.

AI in CoH could be however fooled with simple trick - build barbwire around captured point (victory or resource) and AI would have hard time to deal with. You can check related topic here:

There is also one [1.04] replay attached vs Expert PC explaining how it works...

EDIT: maybe some new approach could be implemented but I'm not expert on these things, like fuzzy or self-learning algorytms. It is obvious devs programmed new AI for EF so I'm glad because it is improvement when comparing to vanilla CoH AI...

Hmmnnn... I wonder if AI can build defence turret at their base when is been destoyed. I notice the enemy doesn't really cares for their base and just leave it like that, they should build at least 1 trenches. Well i was hopping of Panzer Elite to have trenches but it don't

-Details-

Enemy base turret or bunker been destoryed they wont build back. Or is it me playing too fast?

When your bunkers destroyed do  you build it back? I don't.

And you probably do play to fast, once a comp had like 3 trench's and 4 mg, If i find out how to do a screen shot, I would show everyone
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

It's a hardcoded "error" of Relic side, when the AI unlocks an offmap doctrine unit, it will only build it. It's none-fixable by us.

Shift + Prt Scr button ( on top of the home button if u using American style keyboard)

And the problem it a hard corded. What to do? Nothing can be done

Wish there is someone who is talented can program the AI can almost read our mind. But this can be very very very dangerous, In future later end up like Eagle Eye.
