Someone on another forum suggested it might be an antivirus program causing the connections to get dropped, but we both turned our AV programs off and it didn't help.  It's pretty random, like we got through one game fine, then tried another and immediately got dropped, then did another and were fine until the VP counter got to around 25 and we were just about to win, and we dropped.  Annoying!   >:(

Same here, like I said for me it kind of just stopped, I think a patch fixed it for us or something.

so is this why I get desync errors when trying to watch non EF recorded games in EF? even player vs player ones?

I don't think it was EF that was causing the connection errors.  I and my friend both have the Steam version of COH and we did a "verify local files" check and it said that a file was missing and had to be reinstalled, then after that we played several games with no disconnects.  I think it was either Steam messing up the game or xfire or possibly EF arranged some files badly.
