Could not load file or assembly 'EF.API.Shell' ??????
« on: February 06, 2010, 01:57:24 AM »
I have been enjoying EF for a while, and I just did about 3 patches on it, now every time I try and start EF from the launcher, I get this error message popping up. It says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will terminate immediately.

Could not load file or assembly 'EF.API.Shell, Version 1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of it's dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

I then have a 'details' button next to the Continue and Quit buttons, it gives me a box with all the following information in it:

"See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box. "

I haven't got the slightest clue what to do now. If it helps, I'm not using the Steam version of CoH, and I only have Tales of Valour. I'm using Windows 7 64bit too. I haven't had any problems with my normal CoH ToV either.

Can you confirm that you have a file called "EF.API.Shell.dll" next to EF_Launcher.exe and RelicCoH.exe?

I have the same problem and I do not have a file called "EF.API.Shell.dll" in my main folder where you can find EF_launcher.exe and RelicCoH.exe
