i say do nothing with Italy but make an Ostlegionen Command Tree. and make the other 2 just Wehrmacht like.

what about the semovente series tank destroyers? the best of those had a 105mm gun on it.

The Semovente probably was the best armor the Italians built during the war. However, as far as I know, no Semoventes were deployed to the eastern front.

And I think some people are getting a bit ahead of themselves wanting an entirely new faction for Italy or Romania. Their part was far too small to justify their own faction and let's not forget they were the German's weakest link (e.g. The encirclement of Stalingrad was achieved by breaking the line at the Italian section). Not because they were inferior soldiers, but their equipment was incredibly poor and no match for the Russian tanks.

A few units or abilities would be nice, but nothing more.

just make 1 command tree based on: Russian Liberation Army, Hilfswilliger or Ostlegionen. no special 1 country, you can just say ingame: my army is from Italy or where you want them to come from.

Perhaps one of the doctrines or an ability for the Ostheer could represent the Axis satellite armies [...]

Would be awesome to "buy" few units from allied countries,with command points.
