Hello Eastern Front Modders,

Let me begin by acknowledging that this is possibly inappropriate for this section of the forum and I fully understand if it is deemed so by admins and promptly deleted and/or moved. However, I did not see a "general feedback" type section (though I just arrived here since the feedback option on the launcher failed to work). Regardless of where this post should be, I hope it is helpful for the Mod Team.

That aside, I will begin. First off, my praise to you fine people for completing the first stage of your mod! It is truly excellent! The Russians are wonderful, even if they are just using the sound files from the Russian CoH ;) I assume I hear "Sherman", "Firely", M26, and Greyhound correctly, yes? No worries, it works out great. Just be sure to use the German CoH sound files for the Ostheer :-) The maps created also are superb and I swear you have increased the AI, as now my friend, *ahem*, Tovarisch and I can't even handle normals! (We usually play 2 v 2 against Experts) Great work all around!

Second, a few bugs we have noticed, but I assume you and/or other gamers have already found these. But let's be safe. The Soviet Breakthrough doctrine allows for IS-2 tanks to entrench, if I am not mistaken. Yet, this ability does not work (for me, anyway). Next, my aforementioned Tovarisch and I have had some trouble loading the mod, more than we normally have with the vanilla game (which is buggy in its own right). I cannot explain this with any great detail, as I am not a technician like you fine fellows. Related to this, we have not been able to get the Stalingrad map to work, either as the two of us playing online or my friend playing a skirmish offline. He even reinstalled the mod with no success. Could this, perhaps, be because he is using Steam CoH? We've had trouble with The Battle of the Bulge mod with Steam versions before. A final bug that I think I found is the Berlin map. The Brandenburger Tor (which is beautiful) has those two small buildings connected on either side. They appear to be garrisonable, yet my MG42s could not enter them. Any thoughts?

Last, I would like to end with my overall thoughts/suggestions. The Russians feel, more or less, like a complete faction. I think, for what my opinion is worth, that they should be given Observation Posts. They rely heavily on munitions and this is extremely hard to acquire without OPs to increase resources and protect the points. We will now try having one of us play American and the other play Russian, so as to ensure increased resources. For what our opinions are worth, we think both the Russians and Ostheer (when they are finished) should have access to OPs or at least something like the Panzer Elite Scout Car (though I still think all factions should have OPs, except MAYBE the British, since their ugly buses are mobile OPs). We realize this is likely due to the Russians being caught off guard when OP. Barbarossa was initiated, but even on the Berlin map, when the Russians had the upper hand, they still struggle with resources. Perhaps they could have a late-game ability to build OPs or at least get some sort of way (like the PE scout car) to increase resources?

I hope this has been helpful for the further development of a truly excellent mod! Great job, keep up the good work, and keep on Spockin' folks!

Ye, the Feedback System didn't work first, but after the Launcher Update (you should've installed) it worked and after patch 1.01 the "Rolling Fortress" ability was replaced with the "Salvage Mechanics" ability, so your Mechanics can do the same as a Bergetiger. And ye, I hope they use the German sound file for the Ostheer. :D

Overall a nice feedback and I think the developers will be pleasured. :)

Well, my friend and I did the following: install the base 1.00, then 1.01, then lastly, the 2.401 or whatever launcher update. Maybe my internet had a momentary lapse (it happens now and then) and it was right when I tried to send the feedback. I can't say.

As for the Breakthrough Doctrine, isn't the second ability on the right side of the tree still saying tanks can entrench? I'll have to double check. We have working mechanics (getting 15 tanks with them is always fun), yes.

I also have one more bug or at least a suggestion. My same friend and I just played a game on Kursk: two Soviets vs one Wehrmacht (him) and one Panzer (me). It started out just fine, until the computers each got the experience points for Katyushas- they both must have chosen Propaganda. After this, they stopped being a challenge and ONLY used those blasted rockets. Initially, they had some soldiers and a tank, but they were finally destroyed and so they were left with those blasted rocket launchers. And they only used those blasted rocket launchers. While the vanilla AI loves using Calliopes, even they use other things besides those. If the time can be found, perhaps the AI can be given a few moments? Using only Katyushas is not a good way to win a war ;-)

I don't know if the order of patching matters, but I've read that you should download the Mod/Add-On, then install the Launcher Update and then Patch 1.01.

Yeah, I asked already, they missed to change the name and the text.

Yeah, I've noticed that, it's a bit funny, becuase killing Katyushas is hell funny. :) But sure, if you want real enemies, then they shouldn't take Propaganda. :P (The CPU.)

There's another launcher in version in 1.01 (2.500), so you might wanna reinstall that patch again.
