Well, give people what they want :)
They want comp stomps, give them comp stomps.

If you stop 'em from doing it, they'll either go Solo vs CPU, or they'll play regular COH, Blitzkrieg, or simply quit EF :)

What is wrong with playing against bots?...

I know that this is getting hotfixed, and it sounds like the devs are joking about the purposeful implement of a way to get rid of "compstomps", but honestly the way y'all talk about it it sounds like it is some kind of taboo to even play with friends against AI. Though it is probably the purist in the competitive players showing.

Anyways, I've been a player and big fan of this mod for a good while now and I just hope that we can keep both the casual and competitive players in mind. This is a really great mod and it deserves all the rep it is getting and all the money it will never see from Russians selling pirated versions of this mod too. Looking forward to the hotfix so my friends and I can go back to throwing conscripts at MG42s.

I have contributed time and money to this Mod for some time now. The bad taste jokes of A Developer and two Balancers is extremely objectionable to me. Unfortunately it is underlied by a failure of the jokers to appreciate the exclusionary nature of their comments. It goes against the basic values that have made this Mod popular and exciting. I believe as Devs and Balancers you have an obligation to promote not tear down the project.

There is no bad word written in this topic about the players who plays vs AI only. We made a joke which indicates that we want more live players rather than AI challengers and the taste of this joke good or bad depends on the person. You took it in a bad way but if you check another post of mine which was  completely intended in a  positive and encouraging way, as same as Ape's post.

We just want fresh faces in the live games cause we're bored of each other and we have right to demand this as same as you demand your own preference.

Anyway, No need to panic, sync error was just a patch issue and it's fixed now. Enjoy the game how you like it, it's none of ours business of course.

Otto, what Ape wrote was a joke, granted, a rather simple and bad joke. However I am completely unable to understand your utterly exaggerated reaction now. If there's some private problems in between you and some devs, please solve them where they come from, in privacy.

Peace, now!

Enjoy the game how you like it, it's none of ours business of course.

In my first post I recognized that the devs were making a joke. However if a problem that denied a group of players came up, you would think the devs would try to reassure the players who would like to play again that the problem is being fix rather than post things like:
Yeah, no more comp stomps. Me and my stream need fresh blood. Come my children, come to papa! :D
As someone who takes the time to read the posts and reply compared to someone who just skims through the threads to see if the problem is being taken care of, that person isn't going to find these posts very reassuring and feel like they are being cut out and looked down upon because they would rather play with friends then against them.
The problem I saw was a lack of sensitivity for the lurkers who are just trying to figure out their problem, and that there was never an answer that didn't have a, "to stop people from playing vs. cpu" attached to it until the fix was announced. A simple, "It was a mistake that being looked into, we will notify you when a fix is released." would have worked.

Anyways, I am very thankful for the hotfix, and again, I don't blame the devs and balancers who were just trying to have a little fun. This'll be my last two cents on this topic so if anyone wants to bring something up with me please PM me.

This was a change made by the balance team to stop people playing vs CPU and playing vs people from now on.

Actually, it's a bug that's being worked on. A hotfix will come quickly to fix these issues.

3rd post - the situation was laid out and I said a fix is coming.

Overreaction much? Grow thicker skin. If devs truly wanted to remove compstomps from the game they could quite easily do so. Nobody has anything against compstompers but skirmish players do not grow the community from the simple nature of the gametype they play. Skirmishers do not require a human opponent and so the lobby feels empty for those that play PvP because Skirmish players can fire up a game and play anytime while some of us must wait. Also, a skirmish only player can't contribute to the balance discussions of the forum as much, and this area is also a little empty as a result.

Nobody has said that skirmishers SHOULD stop playing vs CPU but those that only do so because they are afraid to do a 1v1 have no reason to fear. This community is very open and helpful and those that need advice or training can be helped a lot more than those playing 1v1 automatch in vCoH and getting stomped. Fish, Dann, Dreamer etc. are all players that have grown substantially better after some help, and new players can also get a lot of help. If a player feels he's limited to skirmish because he's not good enough, he has the opportunity for people to help him if he wants to play PvP truly. Those that only want to play skirmish are still free to do so, though personally I get no satisfaction from that gamemode.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.
