[1.30] Challenge Mode- Red/Bliz

Challenge mission isn't all that challenging...

...for the Germans that is. Once you get two 88s up, arty, mortars, more bunkers, sniper, sandbags, maybe an MG crew (optional), and of course AT guns.

This is an awesome defense that the Soviets cannot break. They didn't even get close, only my bunkers received some damage and they were repaired on the spot. The sniper acts as the visual on the battlefield for the 88s so they can do what they do best and cripple enemies. It's like easy mode.

The Soviets on the other hand, I barely held the base and just hoped that timer would run out quick. I won, but just barely. Soviets just aren't the defensive type, so even on easy mode I couldn't hold the Germans back.

I am possibly not doing it right. Maybe someone with experience playing Soviets can help me out.

I used commander, vet mortars, vet ATs, firebase, sandbags, some mines, trenches, and tanks (SU-85 upgraded). I was thinking about tank hunters, but I decided not to use them.

Did you play in speed mode? Lot harder there.

For soviet, I find going trenches with snipers & tank hunters the best way for me at least. Possibly supported by mortars and/or at find. However I played mostly before recrew fix was added and they were not as good there.

I tried to rush tanks and that didn't go so well, and it appears the panzerscrek does MASSIVE damage to T-34s with the new update.
"AT missile is OP, Infantry is fine"

You kinda need trenches to even stand a chance as the soviets from my experience. wehrmact are a great defensive type while the soviets really are not (unless your using propaganda doctrine).

maybe give the soviets some extra defensive structures just for this mode

Witch is good.
T-34/85 isnt a heavy tank anymore. Its still more powerfull than a Sherman and its frontal armor is as good as it was in 1.23. Only the side/rear armor is weaker and Stugs do extra dmg to it.

heh i tried a quick one before and got owned with 5 mins on the clock left.
so this time i went normal speed, went armour called in two shermans and base rushed em, it slowed the AI down and bought me some time but i still got beaten 1 min left

hi there iam confused when i first played it i was able to start the gane with axis when i selected them know when i try to do wermacht vs soviet i always get soviet mode i got bug or not soing it ruhg ti may accidently hit swap start postion how to u select a faction for this mode when i selct axis form drop down menu i get soveits a little confused here any ideas?

You might wanna check the reset time on firestorm coz thats all it used to defeat me literall 6-8 in a row like every 10-15 seconds it firestormed me and my HQ, kinda hard not to die.
