I was playing today and I was spamming volksies at a brit player in auto match in the early game and a brit motar almost destroyed my mob of volksies. I had them retreat, and what was left of them got back alive, and looked at one of them and he reminded me of my great grandfather, (he was in the heer; fought on the western front; surrendered in the Ardennes Offensive). After the round was over I looked at the family records book and I found out that he WAS in a volksgrenadiers division, in fact he looked almost SAME as him.

It'd be interesting to see pictures. If its a public domain image like...

(^he seriously looks like one of my mates)

...then it probably did have some influence on the look of Volks. If its a private image however, it'll be a coincidence.

OT

This is my historical avatar on my clan's forum and out of curiosity I did some research to find out who was that soldier.  :)

END OF OT

Also my great grandfather fought in WW2, on the Eastern Front, he was in the ARMIR (Italian Army in Russia)...he returned in Italy on foot  :o

that guy is like the universal soldier...
a war weary young guy quickly aged by the horrors he has seen :'(
