some of my idea
« on: August 04, 2010, 03:07:25 AM »
-well,since i saw a pic of the heavy mg of soviets from the modb.com http://www.moddb.com/mods/coheastern-front/images/weapons3#imagebox [nofollow],what i think is...the soviets need an hmg,cuz i saw that hmg alot in the ww2 movie(ofcoruse about eastern front :P),even though the soviets have tripod maxim,DP-28 or DShK,one of the developer says.the soviets still need it.

-secondly,also lastly, maybe we should add some reward unit for the soviets.here's one of my idea http://www.moddb.com/mods/coheastern-front/images/tanks1#imagebox [nofollow],u guys can use the KV-1 as a reward unit.replacing which tank?that'll have to think ::)

up above is some of my idea.ofcourse i hope u guys will accept my idea,if u guys dont i'll understand.and i think u guys(dev team)can do better,u guys make the legend, making the eastern front and it comes true.thats amazing u know.

and, keep up the good work guys=)

ps:some of the pic, just borrowing them lol

The KV-1 should replace the IS-2 and not require light and heavy tankovy, just heavy. This would allow a change in strategy depending on the reward unit you choose.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Lol on the bottom paragraph you made the Devs sound like Gods :D

If the Soviets have a MG or any Heavy MG then its bound to be OP, I mean just think about it. A MG suppresses the enemy then the Super mortar Kills them all in 1 shot. The Soviets have lots of men to make up for this thing, and it just wont work out unless you change the Soviets completely.
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

the big problem with the maxim would be to animate it and that the russians wouldn't be able to recrew it. but they can use the strelky with the mg upgrade for that role.
Jagd[tiger] is a buildable replacement for the Kettenkrad... It can cloak and cap points. :P

I really like the idea of using the KV1 as a reward unit for
the IS2. Needing less previous upgrades than the IS2, it
would come out sooner, and be cheaper, allowing for
different tactics. I like this, a LOT! :)

As for Maxim, just make it very slow moving :)
Like half the speed of Wehr HMG?
I'd really like to see it in-game.

Replacing a late game 1944 tank designed to take on tigers/panthers with a less armoured 1941 tank carrying the same gun as a T34/76?....'interesting concept'.... ::)

I'm sure most people here want to see the KV-1 as a reward unit. It's going to be difficult finding something to swap it out for though. Options to me would be...

Perhaps swapping it out for Tank Riders, then again that would perhaps make breakthrough abit too tank heavy (although arguably thats the point)

Swapping for Katyusha would just seem abit out of place, and not really fit with Propaganda that much, other than the fact that the KV-1 was practically immune to German armour when it was first rolled out.

And then finally replacing the IS-2, would give you good advantage earlier on, but as Zerstorer says it doesn't make that much sense as a "concept" in the historical sense.

So who knows, I'm sure we'll see one at some point though.

Cheers

1939 not 1941.  ;D
T-34/85 allready has Churchills armor, powerfull gun, a lot of HP and high mobility. Not a good swap for IS-2.
KV-1/76 could replace a Lend Lease Sherman.
KV-8 flame tank could replace KV-2.

Well I did suggest that a DShK that would be towed like an AT-gun recently, but in that link you've posted, it just seems like it was too difficult to animation. I also think it would prove to be more of a disadvantage to the soviets because of the re-crewing bug.

Also, the Maxim is too similar to the Vickers (which is a re-chambered Maxim).

... or the KV-1 could replace the T-34, slower but more armour, and have a upgrade for the KV-85 with the gun of a T-34/85.. :D

 - Oooh, that's perfect. The KV1 is functionally a Churchill.
Having it replace the american lend-lease would be just
purrrfect. It's a reward unit, people don't NEED to use it.

As for why want KV1 ? Well, it's a genuine tank.
 While I'm at it, I'd love to see T26 and BT7... :D

 - And SU76. Cmon, that HAS to make it into the game :)
Model for it is already made, too.
 - And SU122... pretty please? :)

Nah, I would rather see IS-2 as doctrinal call-in, comparable to Pershing/Tiger I. Soviets already have medium tank with upgunning upgrade, a tank hunter and some small tanks to support them.
Su-76 would be great, same t-26. KV-1 was good in 1941, but not in 1943 or 1944. KV-85 would fit, but I think that it was made in very small numbers... Like Ostwinds, Wirbelwinds, Pumas and Jagdtigers. So I vote for KV-85 - faster than IS-2, less armoured, cheaper but armed with 85mm cannon.
And this is how I see Soviet tanks:
T-90/70 - supportunits,like Ostwinds or Pumas
T-34/76 - as main battle tank, like PZIV
Su-85 - as american M10
KV-85 - nice toy to hold panthers, then flank them with T-34
Call-inable IS-2 as powerful breakthrouh unit, like Tiger, can be replaced with ISU-152.
