I saw mines too, but my reaction was the opposite...

I'm not sure how much of the early field dominance is being toned down in response to  the introduction of retreat to russian troops, but mine laying EVERYWHERE seems like a no brainer for russians right now(though I admit I was watching and did not get to appreciate the whole impact of new munitions costs as they probably exist)

It felt all too familiar, and all too powerful, given the control the russian player had over the field against his opponent in 2 of the games I watched(who, true, was unfamiliar with russian strengths and weaknesses, and that may have led to that field advantage)

It just seems unneccesary to me to have the mine laying come standard, and I think it should be packaged with the upgrade for the better ingenery troops instead.

Tank hunters already get mines, and so do expert engineers(I believe), and I liked that approach very much.

There is already very early and capable anti light vehicle in the russian arsenal, between tank hunters, both of the light vehicles, and the at gun, all of which are not too terribly hard to get, not to mention the oh shit sherman.

Against infantry, russians already dominate in numbers, though their damage output is poor .    I think adding mines into the equation will force a balancing act that makes them more vanilla(or similar to americans perhaps), though this may be unfounded.

I mentioned that both russian light vehicles are good against enemy light vehicles, and actually, in the case of the t-90 it seems to be a problem.  Others will have already commented on this.

I love the unit, and it feels very unique, and it really does make sense that it should do some damage to light vehicles, but it just shreds them.  I laughed at the horror when I saw one drive right up to a marder and procede to spray it into scrap.   It owned at halftracks from range as well.

Without knowing all of the issues to be concidered, I would suggest nerfing its accuracy at range...this would also alleviate complaints I was hearing that it is also way too powerful against infantry.  This would not help the poor marder, except that maybe it would take longer to kill it if it was ineffective on its way in, but it would help at halftracks.

I very much appreciate that the commisar can no longer drop artillery until some other requirement is fulfilled(a second building?)  I really think it's still a problem in 1.11, and am glad it has been adressed.

As one of the players was saying, the Russian tanks did seem to be dishing out way too much damage, though it was hard to tell whether those tank destroyers were upgraded at one point or not...even so, they seemed just devistating.  I may not have seen what I thought I saw, but I believe a couple of those took out a jag through its front armor(down to 1/3 of its hitpoints) ina shot from each.  I'm not sure what else does that(or, like I said, whetherI saw that right)...

Silly for me to talk about that stuff though, as it is a beta version I'm not playing, and I"m sure its probably already being adressed.

You heard Merlin doing all that yelling. Well look at who he was playing against. Bud’s Wehr won the first one I saw. I bet it is almost impossible to keep things balanced between wehr and Soviets then at the same time between Soviets and PE. Relic hasn’t been able to pull that one off.

The T90's damage to light vehicles is indeed too much.  Thats why I'm here, to test anything and everything and bring it to the Dev's attention.

Of course my Wehr was ownage!  :D

I've played much more Russians than Merlin as well so I understand their strengths and weaknesses a bit better.
