Upgrade to make restocking infantry cheaper
« on: June 05, 2010, 04:33:48 AM »
A possible upgrade to allow infantry to become cheaper when restocked split between two upgrades to improve the cost and possibly speed of restocking, calling it something like civilian recruits or defense of the motherland

ADD **would only be available when certain buildings have been built and would cost a considerable amount (prevention of early game spaming)

I agree retreat for conscripts and ingency squads shouldn't be allowed, i life to call them the bullet shields especially conscripts

I see where you're going, however this will take conscript spam to a whole new level. The only way I could ever see this come to past is if the upgrades also decrease the combat effectiveness of the squads.

I like the idea, with some considerations.  1.2 is going to implement retreat, and I have mixed feelings about that, thinking that some units(ealry units, should not get retreat).  I thought they were going to implement it with a level of acquired vet but that turns out not to be the case.

If they were to only give certain units vet though, the conscripts would be a resource sink mid to late game and people would not buy them over the more durable retreatable units.  I think that some way of making conscript replacements, and even new squad buys, cheaper at about  mid game (with some sort of upgrade at the barracks(costing fuel), this could mitigate the decided disadvantage of not being able to retreat with those early units.
