Ostheer AI glitch
« on: August 04, 2013, 04:16:27 AM »
I was playing 1 vs 1 on Tali Ihantila map and AI didn't do anything but training only  pioneers and lancers.
Here is the screenshot.

This happens at other maps too. I found out the same bug on Moscow but I don't have enough time to check all maps. Perhaps a few more maps are damaged. It doesn't matter if you play Ostheer or Soviets, in both cases AI stay passive. I think this will be fixed in future.

hiho-

does this happen even without no-pop-cap?

I took a look on that map and it might be too cluttered with trees and obstacles, so the pathfinding  (espec. in 5x5 mode) goes with large ranges.
Base areas could have been a little larger, also...
Or your enemy just surrendered in fact of your progress?!  ;)
Please ask the developper himself (Burro) for more troubleshooting for I am still a beginner in mapping and not an expert to all the features....

greetings

If i remember right, maps also are supposed to include points which the AI uses as well, so maybe the map does not have any? Im not a map maker so i would not know

The next patch will include an AI debugger and AI debug log system which i created. This will help when it comes to figuring out why the AI might behave extremely stupidly, like this

There ain't AI-Markers in it, but I think thats not the problem ( for I know that maps should work without them)
And we`ll stay lock and loaded for your AI-debugger!  thanks man  :)

Yeah, I can vouch for this. The AI markers aren't necessary for the AI to work, but will instead give them an area to focus upon (such as putting a high priority near a chokepoint, where the AI wouldn't usually notice).

Not just Osther AI , Soviet AI need to get fix too. I choose normal Soviet AI, when i play 2 vs 2 , the soviet created 3 naval , more than 15 or 20 Su 78 (i forgot the name, it's a light amour, build on chassis of t70, good for anti tank) and many other unit such as t70 and strek. Someone swapped something wrong, normal ai fighting like expert AI.

Soviet spamming those things has definitely been solved
