low angle field artilery for infantry support would be nice!

I wanted to start this topic because i think the other topic where including of SS is discussed are starting to go off topic...so i thought we could discuss the including or not including SS in unit name here,and leave discussing potential ss units and their abilities and everything elese except their names there. ::)

When u think that the other topic get offtopic than tell this at the other thread and try to get back to the old topic.
Out of my view the other topic isnt offtopic-like and so i close here.

why you are so against that "ss" would be included in name of ..ss units,well i think ss should be included in the name ,not because it just sounds cool or whatever ,but because ss wasn't part of official german armed forces(heer) ,so including them in ostheer but not clearly saying that they are ss troops just sounds a bit illogical to me ,but ok thats just my opinion.

i like TheReapers idea that ss should be included trough doctrine,but i think it would be enough is ss would get just on side of doctrine.
well if i would make this on side, it would look like this:

foreign SS

1x g43-for squad leader(acts as sniper,same way like in british infantry section with scout upgrade)

i have an idea about logistical strike ability if you guys will make some sort of Luftwaffe doctrine of course , so logistical strike would slow down resource income rate,ability cooldown,and make upgrades take longer time for soviets.it could cost 4 or maybe 5 Command points and 300 munition and be active for 3 or 4 minutes.

even tough poles were under-armed they managed to keep figthing for 36 days(france survived only 10 days more)and second half of that time they fighted two front war.

ok,i just think ostheer should need unit like panzergrenadiers that could keep up with armored unit speed(they could have sprint ability by default), fight better togeter with armored units(their primary targets should be units capable of taking out tanks) and fight better against armored units(having better accuarcy with shreks,biger range..) than any other infantry unit.

how about german tank riders-4 or 5 panzergrenadiers armed with mp40,anti tank grenades and able to be upgraded with mp44 rifles also with ability to fight better when grouped together with armored units. they could be call in unit with panzer III or stuG III whom they would ride.

Ski troops? Surely not :P We couldn't make them Ski for a start, and on non-snow maps they'd just look ridiculous.
If we're including any Finns (and thats a big IF... although there is increasing demand for and I'd hate to dissapoint but its not up to me) I'm in favour of having the Finnish Jalkavaki as a call in squad. Elite troops that can build defences, similar to the Luftwaffe ground forces.
yeah i was thinking those jalkavaki's  ;) if u guys add them to ostheer i think they should be something like stormtroopers with ability to booby trap buildings and other stuff

If you want defense, i think that you could better work with the idea of the festen Plätze/Festungen ( Fortress ).
Perhaps it is possible to make more out of the houses and building on a map ^^
perhaps pioners could fortify buildings or usual buildings could be upgraded to be as strong as headquarters or something like that  ;)
