Ok, thank you. But what about my old coh (the one that I had before patch 2.700), it's necessary to keep having it?, or it is only useful to play LAN too?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know :If I have already installed Company of Heroes (new steam version), it is necessary to install the normal one (that comes with steam when I activate the serial key)?, and ..... should I uninstall my old COH (retail version)?. Thanks for any constructive replies.

Aye their equipment was not as good as the Germans, but never the less it still might be a good mod.

I'm just seriously worried about you and your "Hobbies"... xP

It'll be fun to see the Italians none the less :P. Maybe all their unts will be cheaper or something.

Yes , surely they will be cheaper , but the mod Dev said that the doctrines were going to be based on german mechanical support,so , there wont be any balance problem  :P.

Just been looking through Moddb as I try to do on a daily basis see if there are any new mods for CoH and stuff, and I saw that a Southern Front has popped up adding the Italian faction, any thoughts on this?

A quick side note...

Fish and his many names...  I just don't know what to say, does he do this stuff in his spare time :p

Interesting mod, I'm waiting for it, but so far it's almost impossible to tell how it will look like.

I think that it's going to be awesome , because they have a huge team .Just go and check the main page at Moddb ( http://www.moddb.com/mods/italy-1943-the-south-front )

Yes, sure it is very difficult , as i said before : im not good at all with modding and all that stuff  , but i post this to show more people why it would fit very well a Gow RTS game with the CoH gameplay style . I didnt mean to create a mod , but ,obviously , as many others , i would feel happy to play with some models and skins taken from the Gears universe .If anyone can give me a link to learn how to do your own skins and models , send me a PM , and i'll try .

Hello EF mates, you know , i'm a big fan of the Gears of war series , and i thought that an strategy game based in that universe would be really cool . Why not doing a mod for Company of heroes about Gow? (it could be called Company of gears) . I know its very difficult ,in fact , im not good at all with all this stuff , but i have lots of ideas :The COG (the human army) would be an army based on a mechanised infantry , with many upgrades (such as everything that you can find in the gears of war universe) , also it would have tanks (but not many) and helicopters .The Locust army would have all the different types of locust,mainly based on meat troops such as drones (infantry) , boomers(equivalent to tanks) , and reavers (equivalent to airplanes).We could be able to add other armies too :The UIR (human enemies of the COG before the locust invasion) , the Lambent (mutant locust and mutant humans) , the savage locust and the stranded .
I'll put my idea of an army tech tree and all that, if somebody is interested .Also i want to say that there are many tech tree ideas around internet (but as an stand alone game) for example : http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/660297-Gears-of-War-RTS-Locust-amp-COG-Forces 
Here i have some images of drone squads and veterans squad for COG (this are images from the original game):





THIS IS NOT A MOD THAT I WILL DEVELOP , IS JUST AN IDEA  TO SHOW  YOU WHY THE COMPANY OF HEROES GAMEPLAY STYLE WOULD FIT VERY WELL IN A GEARS OF WAR RTS GAME.

Anyway here it is my concept of the COG army:

-HQ:as many other factions in the game , the COG army will dispose of a house taken as forward base . From here you will be able to deploy Engineer units , an squad based on 2 mens ready to build construccions and defenses .They can be UPGRADED with a jackbot and demolition charges.

-COG army tent: from here you will be able to deploy :

.-Recruits : 5 men squad with low combat experience equiped with 4 retro lancer's and 1 Lancer.

.-COG motorbike:fast recognition unit (it's like the wehrmacht motorbike or the american jeep)

.-Heavy Mulcher: a 3 man squad with one heavy machine gun .

-COG support pool : from here you will be able to deploy :

.-Gears:the legendary ,experimented and well trained infantry units of the COG .the backbone of this army will be a four man squad equipped with 3 retro lancers and one lancer .they can throw frag grenades and they can be UPGRADED with 2 gnashers or 2 more lancers .

.-Mortar :120 mm heavy mortar ready to kill every locust standing close to the area . this will be carried by 3 mens.

.-One shot:high caliber rifle made to destroy everything that moves (better against boomers thought).This will be carried by 3 mens.

.-Sniper: a Gear with exceptional aim equiped with a longshot rifle .he can use camouflage .

.-army truck* or pack horse* : the main function of any of these 2 is to transport infantry . You may say who is more convincing.

COG army factory: from here you will be able to deploy :

.-Commander :he is the leader of your troops , giving them hope and valor to the end .He is equiped with a snub pistol and it can be UPGRADED to Lancer plus the support of the onyx guards, and the ABILITY "watched hammer of dawn strike".

.-Veteran Gears :a 3 man squad based on a group of experimentated soldiers equiped with 3 retro lancers .UPGRADES :lancers .ABILITIES:smoke, frag and incendiary grenade.

.-Armadillo:light support vehicle .

.-Centaur:Heavy tank that is able to kill every locust in front of him.

COG industries :in here you will be able to make some upgrades .
