Well it find it pretty sad  ???. It would be more coherent and not a real change if it replaces "God of war". An artillery strike replaced by artillery unit. Of course the quality of the Hovitzer, his cost & power have to be discussed :)

In my vision :

---} Propaganda is clearly a defensive strategy, based on positions (tranchees & machinegun) and artillery (Katyusha), like the defensive option of the Wehrmacht ( 88Canon & bunker reinforcement & defense bonus).

---} For massive assault, we have the third specialisation, with many Tank reinforcements (Sherman & co),aviation raid (Sturmovik) and faster infantery. Pretty coherent (kind of Blitzkrieg)

---} And an Urban/Guerilla strategy, with Partisans, bombed position, Snipers, flammethrower (and a "no step back" which should be in propaganda tech).

So allow a massive artillery help seems to be the most coherent choice for Propaganda, moreover the Red army was really in love of heavy artillery (like some players  ;D)

Other solutions maybe :

Why not transform the hovitzer into a tech specialisation ? like Propaganda (in replacement of another of course, like the bugged "God or War").

It would be a special construction for defensive doctrine, better than the actual (like 3 hovitzer max, lower cost of population, but not really accurate -a real barrage weapon), but allowed only for one specialisation. For more precise artillery, sovietic have sniper & Major abilities.

It would be the occasion to really transform the "Propaganda spec" into a defensive strategy : Tranchees, katyusha, massive artillery, Machine-gun position.

 -----} You hold the line, you crush the avancing ennemy under a rain of explosions, and you send the charge. Turtle player dream ! ;D

Hello there ! I have made a quick research, seen nothing especially about the AI, so i hope that it will be useful.

 - I am French, so sorry for the mistakes in english  ;D -

I mostly play COH against the AI, by preference, and i have seen some little trouble  the soviet AI, so if it can help some programmers ! Meanwhile I know that AI isn't a priority of course.

Some trouble with the special unit of tech trees : The AI produces them in chain, and stop training other units. For example, the Katyusha and the Assault Tank (KV). I haven't seen any Sherman of the third tech tree, any Partisans too.

The soviet army is really dangerous until these bugs of production. When you only face Katyusha, maybe your infantery is pretty afraid, but you can easily win with some Panzer. In front of chain KV tank, some Tanks & AntiTank gun are enough to end the game. So maybe it's just a problem of unit priority for the AI ?

Moreover about the Katyusha, the AI use them as regular Tank, they go directly in front of the ennemy ! So they are quickly destroyed, you can often see single Katyusha firing rockets, and then rushing into you troops with nothing to do there. So many Katuysha destroyed = spam of Katuysha = no other unit produces.

I have also see that the AI doesn't pick up weapons left on the battlefield, like ATCanon, light weapon, Mortars ... They can now (and i thank you for it) but doesn't make it. Useful for me, not for them :p

They are upgrading Strelky (into "Red banner" unit), but not the Conscrits.

So here are some observations :) In conclusion a vision of the Soviet AI : Really dangerous, spam units and zerg everywhere. You can easily be overwhelmed when you play against them, especially on large map. And when they got the T34 and friends, sovietics are still really dangerous. So a very challenging ennemy :) except when it bug with katuysha and KV :'(.

Awesome works on this mods. I think i wouldn't play COH anymore if i haven't discovered Eastern front. Thank you !

I'm french so sorry for the poor english

First post, so i have to congratulate the team fort this very good mode. A very professional work.

Now some suggestion, i hope they are not heard to many times. It can also be in relation with bug, so sorry if i'm not in the right section.

If possible, i would like to see some transport, like half-track (to make it easily, why not the american half-track justified by the "pre-bail"). Every faction have a transport, except the soviet. Maybe they can run faster with the specialisation, but the German can too with the Blitzkrieg spec (for infantry and tank), and have moreover a permanent transport. A small and fast vehicule like jeep or moto would be pretty nice too, a sort of recon unit.

Maybe it's a bug, but it would be nice to have the possibility to tranform a building into a casern, like  with US or Wehrmart. It is still linked with the lack of mobility of this army (no transport !).
