blackbishop!
I fixed it!
But not with the above solutions...
But by switching off Windows Security Essentials... apparently its checking for viruses and draws so much Physical memory that things fuzzes up :S
So yeah... lesson learned: SWITCH OFF FIREWALL WHEN INSTALLING!!! ><
Sorry for the time wasted and thanks for the help over the few days!
Will be playing it and hoping to wait for Ostheer! Cheers!

No. .NET Framework and Redistributable packages act like the brits vet, are stackable. If you have .NET 4.0 you will only run apps that have been made with .NET 4.0, so does Redistributable package.

Eastern Front needs 3.5 at least, but I recommend to have 2.0 as well, the 3.5 SP1 updates the 2.0 and installs 3.0/3.5 afaik.
Gotcha!
Do you recommend me to uninstall 4.0, install the earlier ones then reinstall 4.0?
Or just go ahead and 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5?
PS: .NET Framework seems 2 have screwed me for the 2nd time as LOTR Online requires me to have .NET Framework 1.1... but Windows 7 does not allow me to install it :(

Make sure you have installed .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5. Also you might need the redistributable visual c++ 2005 or 2008.
These are the links for 32 bits OS(x86) and 64 bits OS(x64) download the necessary installers according your PC's OS and if you haven't installed them yet.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
or
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
or
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
or
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64)

This is for either 32 or 64 bits OS.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
Is .NET Framework 4.0 acceptable? I have that.

Yup, the title says it all.

I have a new Fujitsu Laptop that is 1 month old with Windows 7. Played CoH with the Balance Mod well.

Incredible eh? Damn thing won't even install!!!!

When I double click the binary file/application to initiate the installation process, it either hangs or Windows Explorer crashes.

I can't right click and see its properties as it hangs.

I can't move the file at all.

I can't delete it.
However, I was able to when I went into Safe Mode, which took me an entire night to realize it.

Furthermore, my com was lagging after I DLed the EF application!!!!

There was a fairly long lag when I downloaded the application from Filefront at the end of the DL and it actually caused my Firefox DL page to not respond.

So, I thought the file was corrupted and re-DLed again...
Same thing happened.

Its really frustrating when the application screws up in the 1st stae... how do I solve this??? I am getting really pissed at this.

Thx for suggestions.
