General Discussion / Patch 1.710 has ruined skirmish gameplay

Hi there,

anyone else like me thinking that latest patch 1.710 has ruined skirmish gameplay of the EF mod, too? AI just building up until T3, doesn´t matter which army is chosen. All doing the same except the British. So you don´t see any heavy tanks anymore playing against the AI of the other fractions. Also AI is spaming soviet marines or storm troopers if their doctrine was selected. Soviet sniper is visible all the time running around the field and therefore an easy kill.

In the past I get the answer from one or two developers that EF is a multiplayer mod. O.k...if that is true just wondering why so less replays are published with every patch. Since last update only 5 so far here in the forum...doesn´t seem that there is a huge community out there doing MP.

Don´t get me wrong, I realy liked playing EF in the beginning but since patch 1.610 things turned the wrong way for skirmish players. I have to say that I have no interest in MP and I know that I am not the only one. Also I respect the work and time the developers are putting into that mod. I only wish that skirmish players like me will get a mod which is playable and will make fun, also when the Ostheer will be released...mañana.


Finally a little joke:

A clairvoyant told me last week.
2013 CoH 2 released and EF got a new 1.800 update.
2014 EF got a new 1.810 update, showing one or two new videos about the upcoming Ostheer and new balance changes are published in the forum.
2015 CoH 3 released and EF got a new 1.900 update.
2016 ....... ;D

Same with my pc. All patches till 1.61 worked fine, no probs at all. But with 1.7 it is lagging beginning at middle to late game even on a 1:1.

Hi there,

great work and again become a great mod. Fantastic gameplay and much better than the patches before. Thank you.
The only thing that annoys me is that the eastern front mod leads to conflicts with my own skinmod for vanilla CoH. Playing the Battle of the Bulg or Normandy44 mod I do not have this problem. This mods run on their own and cause no graphical problem.
First Problem I had was because of the new G43 gun AGP file the bodies of my pegrenadiers became invisible. After deleting this EF file from the EF Mod, changing the archive file with the vanilla and than installing my skin mod again, everything was fine with my pegrenadiers. Now I got the little problem while playing EF the tiger got my skin mod camouflage but shows the Vanilla CoH cross insignia on the sides and on the front. Playing the vanilla CoH with my skin mod these crosses are not there...

Are there any chances that EF will not create conflicts with own skin mods in the next patches and run on its own, like other mods do?

Hmmm...if the uniforms really don´t have to be historically correct, why playing WW2 further on. You can dress them what you like.  ;D
Sorry but if I am playing a mod and the uniforms are not what they were looking in the past, I have only half of fun. Well I know next answer will be: than play something else.... ::)

Hi there,

like the vehicle skins and canons. Don´t like the Ofenrohr Troops skins.
Jacket well done but trouser and boots....what is that? Completely wrong. Officer trouser and the boots are too tall. This are no Landser boots. I like your mod very much but some of the new infantry skins for the new Ostheer are really not good.

Yes I use a skin mod mixed from several skins.

Hi blackbishop,

did like you told me. Uninstalled EF, all folders and cleaned the registry. Installed the mod again and upgraded it to the latest patch. Then I downloaded the "Lovely game" replay. From the start the sync error appears again...crazy...

very strange. Got latest EF Patch 1.5.10 and CoH Patch 2.602 but allways the sync error appears while watching EF replays which got same latest patches....???? Any help?

Hi guys,

plz come down. I am asking just normal questions because I am interested about it...I don´t want to attack someone, so no need to be offended. Still wanted to know if there will be changes in the nearer future for the AI or only for the PvP section. Don`t need answers like do it on your own...that is, excuse me, just childish. If I got a look in the replay section of this website or into the gamerreplays.org you will find really not much games played with the EF mod since it was released. So is the PvP section really so big for this mod? Don`t believe that. Anyway, it would be nice to read some relaxed informations about my questions. I am not the only one playing against the AI and doing that is probably in the eyes of some PvP people noobish, who cares? I like to do that and a lot people, too. For what waiting like the Ostheer or more patches if our section will not be considered in the future or with the next patch. This is also no attacking, just a normal critic and questions.

Hi there,

I played today several games on hard level against the AI. Playing both sides Russians and Germans. I see a bit progress but the russian AI still producing one T70 tank in one of six games but waves of Marine soldiers. Wehr AI still producing gaywagons or stugs like hell...same thing like in 1.4. Also Wehr is producing Gaywagons even if you don´t choose them in the special unit area. So I am asking myself where are the big changes? What is the great plan this mod is going further on? Just a mod balanced for the multiplayer gamers or will there be more progress for an AI which makes fun to play against for all who just want to play skirmish games. By the way sorry for my worst english.
I like the eastern front mod a lot but plz do something for a great and intelligent AI which is hard to get out of the field. Other mods got a much better AI like Normandy mod for example or Battle of the Bulg.

game freezes after conscripsts built infantry tent on map Stalingrad Station. Had to restart my PC. It was a 2vs2 game against Wehr and PE AI. Me playing russians and my AI comrade, too. Next 2vs2 game with same army constellation on Mahilyou which got the same size as Stalingrad works fine. No problems to play this map. Also a 1vs1 on Angoville works without any crashes.

first thank you guys for the great new patch!
Some bugs I found.

1) Game freezes after conscripsts built infantry tent on map Stalingrad Station. Had to restart my PC. It was a 2vs2 game against Wehr and PE AI. Me playing russians and my AI comrade, too. Next 2vs2 game with same army constellation on Mahilyou which got the same size as Stalingrad works fine. No problems to play this map. Also a 1vs1 on Angoville works without any crashes.

2. Observer will not be healed by the health truck. Doesn´t matter if he is observing or not.

3. Kettenkrad still waiting after conquer a strategic point till it is destroyed. It still does not move away.

4. Wehr heavy MG gun team don´t move away or try to change their position when they are in close combat. They are holding position till the whole team is killed.

Is that a special sound mod you used for the preview or is it a new one which comes with the 1.5? I am not sure but got the feeling that the sounds of 1.4 are different...anyway the sounds are very good.
