I think he said they messed up designing them, and when the design flaws were finally worked out they still broke down anyway
superior german engineering
Actually, Panther(and Tigers) were fixed and most of the breakdowns were due to beeing overused, because of vehicle shortage. Still Soviets lost many tanks due to failures like 2men turrets and no radios. superior soviet engineering

...But i thought general Rommel operated in Africa?
He operated in Africa. But before that he commanded a tank division in france, the(if i remember it right) 7. Panzerdivision. This was the Gespensterdivision or Ghost Division.

It could be made like the piat-ambush of the Brits. When the unit is in cover, and you activate the ability the unit becomes hidden, and if a tank comes in range of the unit it will trigger one of the men to run at the tank and plant the hohlladung on the tank.

I thought Jaegers light infantry high trained infantry while Gerbirgsjaegers are mountain soldiers, or are they the same?
Gerbirgsjagers are highly trained. I don't think the Germans really referred any soldiers of theirs as simply Jagers during the war. Schutzen might be what you're looking for, but they are the equivalent of privates. In addition, Fallschirmjagers were paratroopers.
Could be wrong, though.
There were Jägerdivisionen. Basicaly they were light infantry with equipment smiliar to the Gebirgsjäger.

There will be Panzerwerfers!
didn't devs say there will be no unrealistic units? and now you can throw your tanks across the map?

Well I don't want to pull this thread in to Off-Topic so let this be my closing statement on this matter: You're against SS, Cossacks, Police Battallions and the like and that's fine in my book. However you see no problem at all with Commissars, NKVD and Partisans. And that is extremely biased.
(Note: I said I had no probs with Partisans because the word to me is equal to Guerilla or Resistance and whatnot. And thusly, "Partisans" by themselves are not a homogenous group like the NKVD is and can't really be judged all together. However that whole Soviet Resistance business was a really messy affair and I think you can't generally vouch for Partisans being "heores" but condemn them who hunted them because at the end of the day both groups did their fair share of atrocities and no one was better than the other)
well spoken i think this is a nice ending for this discussion

So you guys think that the Red Army and Partisans can be in game but Waffen SS is a no go?
There is only one way. All are in game or no one is ingame.

I admit I didn't read the wiki page, just found it interesting if Russians could be seen on both sides of the fence.
But anyway, by that logic this game shouldn't exist. The Soviets, Germans and Americans did some pretty awful stuff during the war.
But the Germans lost so only their feet are held to the fire. Not a great idea, should only be German units in the Ostheer.
Why? We already have two German factions, besides it wouldn't be historically accurate that way.
Because, AFAIK, EF team claimed, that it isn't going to add any war criminals. Discussion over?
Havent played for a time. But isn't the Red Army in this game and you can get Partisanas with them?

How about the M-18? For every M-18 lost 3 German tanks were destroyed! Better visibility and speed than any other wwII tracked vechicle. It was great for ambush but had a turret so when in hull down position, it couldnt be flanked.
Hate what Relic done with the M-18 and Cromwell. Both are slower than the M-10.
sauce on that

The panther was an excellent tank at long range, but it was also much more vulnerable at close range, unlike Tiger I or Panzer IV which was far cheaper btw! But both could have been seriously overthrown by newcoming american and especially soviet tanks.
Panzer IV is underrated. From F2 on it was superior to its counterpart the t-34. In 1944 the t-34 came a bit closer with his 85mm cannon which was only a small bit worse than 75mm L/48, but still soviet tanks mostly lacked a 5 man crew and the soviet steel was one of the worst worldwide. They had revolutionary things with their tanks like sloped armor but their cannons, optics weren't good. And no tank commander sucks.

But their weaknesses were very big in many points.
As every tanks. Every tanks have their weaknesses. Anyway, thats not the best place to discuss that .
Yeah. What's funny about that point is that every major nation kept the weaknesses of their tanks almost throughout the whole war.

Ba-64 would be a nice addition. I'm not sure about Ba-10 or other armored vehicle.

Bolt action rifles weren't to much important on the battlefield. In good armies the normal soldier is only needed as support and ammunition carrier for the machine gun. So in combat you have to only to prevent flanking and to provide ammunition to the machine guns which fire from the flanks.
