There are some exceptions.

-You can upgrade near a Forward Base which can be established in a building.

-And you can upgrade near a Supply Opel Blitz

Ah ok  :) that sounds a bit better. There was so much info I must have missed that part.

I would like to see Ostheer's doctrines have VERY heavy anti-infantry properties. During the war, the Germans deployed a huge number of artillery guns, mortars, howitzers, etc... to the eastern front. It being reflected in their doctrines would be awesome.

Interesting tidbit about the StuG III. Stugs throughout the entire war, including the versions with the StuK 40 L/48  Anti-Tank gun, were employed by the Artillery Branch of the German Army, and as such, the early Stug IIIs  fitted with the StuK 37 L/24 were intended to be used in the infantry support role (as in firing HE rounds at fixed positions / infantry). It was only later the Germans realized it would turn out to be a great Tank Destroyer.

The only thing I have an issue with is that you can only upgrade your units next to the command trucks. Every other faction you can upgrade in territory. If your still stuck on the idea of only next to command trucks, they must have to be some pretty powerful upgrades.

The issue I can see with it is that if you are moving your CP to a more forward position, you are completely devoid of special purpose upgrades for that period, or if it is a large map, you either have to retreat to the CP to upgrade the unit  at the critical moment, or have them stick around and wait to be upgraded.

Basically in a nut shell what i'm trying to say is that I can see it spreading a player too thin too quickly, especially late game. Imagine if as the British you had to move back every single one of your units back to the CP to upgrade them.

"everyone thinks germans were superior with armour"
I'm sorry I don't agree with you there I took out two king tigers once with Englih Fireflys

Actually you are agreeing with you. But its true, unlike what a lot of people believe, the German armor was not superior to Allied tanks, especially to that of Brittan and France.

During the Invasion of France, the Allied tanks were superior in firepower and armor, but they lacked the overall tactics (everything that comes along with the blitzkrieg doctrine), coordination, and communication ( like how Allied tanks used flags for communication, versus the Germans had a radio in every tank) to be effective.

In fact, during the battle of Arras, Rommel was nearly killed and the SS Totenkopf Regiment was overrun because none of their weapons from either the Panzer II, Panzer III, and Panzer 38t could penetrate the British Matilda I and II tanks.

The only thing that stopped them is that Rommel ordered the divisions anti aircraft and artillery to fire their 88s and 105s point blank into the armor.

It was not until 1942-43 that the popular image of the German juggernaught armored force came to be.
