General Discussion / Re: The Propaganda Ministry Calls for Replays

Well the reason i stopped casting is rather manifold.

1) Lack of good (Read, entertaining replays, vital difference there)

2) Lack of time on my part due to university beginning again and the simple fact that i couldn't be arsed to do all that plus dig through a bunch of EF replays trying to look for something mildly entertaining.

3) Lack of replays overall. Simple fact is. Barely any replays were produced or sent in. It made it bloody difficult for me to actually find anything. I mean the usual process of casting tends to involve a lot of replays getting discarded for various reasons. One primary one being repetition. And sadly, a lot of the replays that were there. Well largely did feature the exact same thing over and over again.

C'est la vie. But seeing how people are acting. Good thing i left :) Clearly a few people on their high horses need to get down and perhaps do a bit of critical self-reflection.

But you continue enjoying your mod :) In the end that is what matters. Not my thing though, and i believe i made it clear from the beginning ;)

Cheers.
Imperial Dane.

Well one has to remember all snipers will now be more on the passive side of cloaking. And when you then factor in the Soviet army will probably be more the agressor. It would make sense for their snipers to be able to suffer a bit more comparitively with a potential one man Sniper for the Germans.

I mean if you look at the Soviets. A lot of what they have is much more offensively minded. Much larger squads for even support units does hint at something more minded towards agression. And the losses that comes with it.

Not likely .Would rather go against the Authenticity. More like it's either one period. Or they have set periods so you can play different ones. Like 1941-42. 1943 and 1944-45. That would be a cool option and could allow 2 armies. But essentially due to how they operated during the different periods. You'd have six different armies.

But so far it looks like most of the equipment is of the 1943-44 variety.

And we don't know when Multiplayer is set. But a lot of the equipment seen so far would fit the 1943-44 bill so far.

Only during blizzards really.

As for the troops. The ones in green are ROA troops, that is. Russian Liberation army. As for the green, ease of unit identification, plus i doubt the Germans are going to give any uniforms suited towards winter to their russian allies :P

But a ton of stuff in those screenshots. Got stuff like those chaps with the Gewehr 43s and Panzerfausts, rather reminds me of PE Panzergrenadiers, so let's call them that. Got people with white helmets in the background and panzerfausts as well, let's call them Pioneers because i recall earlier images with them equipped with MP40s. Though that seems like an Upgrade.

You've got another image showing off a light halftrack for the wehrmacht as well.

Plus one preview seems to confirm the SU-85 for the soviets.

I get it from my regular episodes. People do want some variety, otherwise it also becomes.. Predictable. And people also want it to be a bit unpredictable. After 500 episodes you do get a bit of experience with this. But only a bit :) And initially, i just wanted something with the soviets winning initially as well.

Well all interesting games are interesting, The trouble is.. Variety. I can't just show German victories :p despite how lovely that would be, it would also be a bit boring for my viewers i suspect :)

I know i can switch around a bit. As for the fast forwarding. Well sometimes things just get very quiet with nothing happening.. Speeding up helps, it's something i do in particular with a longer game :) Just there to actually ensure people don't fall asleep or leave :p

@darcreaver: Easy for you to say that now isn't it ? :P All i had was that, i mean it was still more interesting than some of the other stuff i had.. but bloody hell... >.>

Anyways, glad you all enjoyed.

The current issue is we're basically relying on Gaming journalists. Not the most reliable bunch in the world. So one has to sift through a lot of replays. Two just popped up which rather threw in some new details on maps and coldtech for example. Plus another interview with Quinn-

Plus one dev popped up on Gr.org (sigh) and tried to point out that CoH 2 was CoH with some of the rougher edges removed. Which is of course pretty damn hard for us to verify at the moment :P

3 map types seem to have been confirmed. Summer, spring and winter it seems.

Just wish we could get some gameplay footage. I mean it sounds bloody exciting when you have someone like Quinn talking about it. but i'd sure as hell rather see and hear it myself :)

@Killar: He wasn't talking about longetivity of the community. He was talking about how most of those who actually bought the game only played Singleplayer. Rather vital difference there.

Usually you only hear about multiplayer and all that. But the people who just play singleplayer are far from a minority. I believe that was more his point :)
