Briliant idea mate, but I guess this needs expanding. How about topic named "Custom constructions" or something similiar, where we can share our wicked ideas :D ?
I'm personaly going to add my FlaK88 Position, wooden bunker and other stuff.
-
Nice idea. If people want, also share the names of the objects and the way how you used them to create what you can see on the specific picture.
This is my contribution:
It's an oil well derrick, created from many many wooden fence posts, an iron beam and some power boxes alongside a pump.
I will use it on a map situated in the oil fields of Maikop.

Well know and hated 88 emplacement
-
wow thats good guys, and thanks for changing the title.
-
here is another rubble barricade, riun idead
-
cool matt, but try to not using splats under it, because it's blending and it's a bit difficullt to see.
-
oh no its part of my map.
-
I have a brilliant idea guys! Stamp those objects and upload the stamps so everybody can use them in their maps!
Where are stamps saved?
Here: My Games>Company of Heroes>ww2>Data>WBData>Stamps>Temporary
You should rename the file and post a picture of it before uploading them so we don't get a mess here...
#Sticky
-
I also had that idea, but unfortunately, my stamp tool always messes with the fence posts so they are relative to terrain and not adjusted anmore.. Otherwise, I'd do immediately :)
-
I've build those two blown up bridges. The first one is just a test, the second is a destroyed offmap bridge.
-
both bridges looks awesome :o
-
Nice creation, man :D
Is that your new map you're going to contribute to EF?
-
Yes, it is. The small bridge is on the border of the map. The big one is just a prototype. I've uploaded the stamp, so you can see how to do bridges like these.
-
Good bridges, im sure people will use that :D
-
Another custom bridge, this one is by me and can be found in the 1.6 patch (Minsk).

Objects used:
- ebps\environment\art_ambient\objects\railroads\cargo_03
- ebps\environment\art_ambient\objects\single_player\mission_07\i_beam_01
- ebps\environment\art_ambient\objects\industrial\wood\harbour_pilon_l_01
- visuals\environment\art_ambient\buildings\normandy_rural\accessoires\supp_awning_01\supp_awning_01
-
Also on the subject of bridges, here is modern overpase in a map I am doing for Zmod.
Just something a little different to enjoy.
-
Just for the lulz.
-
Lol, Company of Heroes - ProStreet? ;D
If you guys ask yourselves where the Kübelwagen is - he is miles in front of all the others! :D

Love that bridge!
-
me too, man :)
-
Thanks :D
And another advantage of it is that it can actually be crossed by both vehicles and infantry. If it wouldn't be in the offmap area ;)
-
Thanks :D

...if you would have used ebps\environment\art_ambient\objects\railroads\cargo_03_walkable but you used ebps\environment\art_ambient\objects\railroads\cargo_03 :D.
-
I know. That was because it isn't important for the bridge to be crossable in the offmap area ;)
-

Used Lord van Dalen's idea of a destroyed bridge on an upcoming map, featuring an idea by me.. ;)
-
I like it, particulary the rail one :)
-
I'm lovin' it. :-*
-
Thanks guys :D
-
Can I make a suggestion? We should gather all pics on the first page of the topic, so people won't be forced to search this thread after it grows ( and it will ;) )
-
Granted, will do that ;)
Edit: First post updated. Please post pictures you want to share hosted on other websites and use the forum code from now on.
-
Seems you have become *Zeh Masta of Brigdes" Maxi! both of your brigdes looks good.

Thank you Snug :)
-
boss bridges, or other object compositions. when i read this thread i wish i had something to contibute
-
would building compositions count?
-
Go for it!
-
Anyone got any rubble barricade ones? or ruins? if so please stamp and attach
-
There are plenty of those in the folder ebps\envrinonment\art_ambient\objects\rubble_debris\. I'm sure you'll find some fitting objects there ;)
-
ive pretty maxed out what you can do with them, Im running out of ideas! :(
-
Would this count?
-
well yeah but get better pictures
-
This is kind of a complete map, I'd say, not any sort of barricade or object composition at all.
-
Maybe he means the bridge
-
Standard WB objects. Nothing special.
-
I think he means this:
-
Seems to be a building stack? Again nothing special I guess.
-
Here is a little something a threw together (inspired by this thread: http://www.easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=7525.0 ) out of parts... I'm not happy with the roof as yet... You can still see the 'chassis' of the trailer for the radar/com dish... I would like it more if there was some suitable flat panel of metal to mount it on (I don't like the idea of a completely empty roof either). Obviously, such a building wouldn't be functional as-is... What I've done would have to be used a 'base' to create a unique structure from (I have no ability what-so-ever to do that myself).
(http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/233/strongholdbunker.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/266/strongholdbunker.png/)
I'd make a 'stamp' available, but I can figure out how to get the thing to actually save as such... I open up the 'stamp' tag from the tool-bar, but nothing I do seems to let me actually "save" the building :(
~JD
-
wow that looks good
-
It looks really nice but I don't think it'll be included :P.
-
If I knew how to save stamps I could upload it so you could see just how much detail I added (thar be stuffs added inside too!)...
The only issue with it in-game is the fact that it is multiple buildings, not one... But like I mentioned, that level of work would be beyond me... SO I'll be satisfied with some help figuring out how to get stamps to actually work :P

I was looking over this recently and it reminded me of something I built years ago. Here's hoping it's relevant!
This was for a series of "alternate history" maps I made, considering if Operation Sealion had gone ahead. I made a whole series of locations in Britain, with the stamp in question being Liverpool Cathedral (in reality the fifth largest and second longest cathedral in the world). That being said, these screenshots don't give any justice to the sheer scale of the building. It's huge.
You'll have to forgive the very poor spline, fx and splat work, but as I said, this is a very old project.
Perhaps what I loved about this the most however is that the brick wall sections of the cathedral (under the archways on the third screenshot) are easily destructible, and there's nothing quite like having an intense infantry fight within a massive ruin, when a panther busts through the wall next to you, sending rubble everywhere.
-
This is what I call breathtaking :o
-
I would suggest you show this map (and any other Operation Sealion maps you made) to Lord Wiffleby over on ModDB. He runs the 1949 mod (which I'm chief weapons historian for) and part of our story line does include Operation Sealion so your maps may get a place in that mod.
-
Thanks for the head's up but if I were to even dream of getting these maps out in the open, I'd have to do a hell of a lot of work to them. Most of them have the early-creations issue where the map border is just too small, and stamping whole maps is a pain in the arse. But maybe once I've finished my two current projects (Korosten and Teterev) I'll pop over to modDB.
-
Just a quick little update to that 'stronghold' building I made... I gots stamps to work, and to celebrate I came up with an updated version!
Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?26pbw4d4762487g
((The following images and descriptions are for 'example' purposes only. Only the 'generic version' is included in the Mediafire download, obviously, for this to be anything other than a cool looking building, far more work (and skill - that I don't have) would be needed, this is by all means nothing more than a 'suggestion'))
Image (generic version/none):
(http://imageshack.us/a/img211/8605/strongholdbunkera.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/211/strongholdbunkera.png/)
This is the 'base' building, with no upgrades of any kind. It would function as a larger version of the (un-upgraded) Wher bunker, having a garrison population of 12 (4 squads - eg: 4 MG teams). The 'upgraded' version would retain this function, but would also gain doctrine/CP specific unlocked upgrades.
Version 2 (Doctrine 3/Improved Comms):
(http://imageshack.us/a/img443/3484/strongholdbunkerb.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/443/strongholdbunkerb.png/)
This version has been given a "Listening post" upgrade, giving it a stealth detection radius equal to its base visual radius. An addition possibility would be a passive 'comm intercept' ability (Like Brit SAS 'Ultra Decryption' - But with a limited radius).
Version 3 (Doctrine 2/Ostkrieg):
(http://imageshack.us/a/img690/2779/strongholdbunkerc.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/690/strongholdbunkerc.png/)
"Watch-post" Upgrade - The spotlights represent a significant boost in the buildings visual radius (But NOT detection), there-by alowing garrisoned units to target hostile units from further away (Making the most of their range increase from the 'Ostkrieg!' CP ability).
Version 4 (Doctrine 1/Brandenburger)
(http://imageshack.us/a/img440/3441/strongholdbunkerd.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/440/strongholdbunkerd.png/)
"Flak-turm" Upgrade - The building gets a flak battery (Either the quad shown or an Ostheer 'single') for AA and AI area denial. It is always manned, even if the structure itself in un-garrisoned (Though if that is OP, then its wouldn't be in-appropriate to require a garrison presence). The 'Brandenburger' ability (suggested) requirement is to represent the requirement for trained gunners for the flak. An additional option would be to make the Brandenburger unit itself trainable from the building.
Text wall much? I know, I know... :P
~JD
PS: Posted a link to this in the Ostheer 'Suggestions' thread...
-
really nice job, although maybe in the wrong thread. however, i do see that you posted in the suggestions thread, and i am sure the devs appreciate the work, even if they do not use it.
-
Just thought I'd point out that OH doctrines are changing dramatically. Nobody should take the currently released doctrine layout to heart.
-
Stupid Question, but how do i put in a picture without giving a link to another page or by attachment?
-
I use Photobucket. Once you've uploaded a picture, it will give you an [IMG] code. Just copy and paste that here directly.
-
I think I would go for attachments then, i don't feel like going through the trouble downloading Photobucket right now.
But anyways inspired by derkap10's building stacking i created a "hotel like" building with a balcony cafe about 10 stories high. Unfortunately ingame you can't really see the roof or top floor, but thats what the heightmap editor is for.
-
:o :o :o
That... Is really quite impressive!
~JD
-
Waiter, I would like a bottle of your most expensive wine....
-
Looks cool! But would mess with gameplay I guess^^
-
You would definitely need some coding to stop it from being garrisoned and to stop destruction of the bottom parts of the building. My Cathedral had the same issue; after a barrage or two, walls are left floating.
-
You can just put these of buildings as a OOB object in the unplayable area of your map, probably i guess since they are very tall and big and bugged...*shugs*
But as far as i know you cant enter any of the top floors or destroy them (unless v1 or howitzer ;D) , since each building block ( i think i had over 50 of those ) acts as a shot blocker so it would take an awful long time to turn it into rubble.
PS. Isn't there a blocker object that prevents buildings from being garrisoned?
-
Suppose this will come in handy for Africa..

I added the destroyed one to wrecked vehicles for you, wrecked_ammo_limber.
And the intact one to base_perimeter. both have variable health down to death. Though you might want them for something.
-
Good job!
