Title: Video Problems
Post by: Cestpasfaux on May 24, 2011, 03:18:39 PM
Under VISTA full updated and gamer PC.

With any version of EF, I have troubles with the video.
Freezing, pixelling on mouse arrow, even total freeze with the need of hard reboot. Video card is working correctly with others games like MMO. But under EF, it gives the sensation that the video card is damaged with stranges lines, points or any bad display.

Troubles start at any location of the game, from Looby to maps.

Audio Driver and video driver are the latest ones for each hardware.

Hello. This is a 32 bit VISTA.

A simple question, even i would be surprised to have a positive answer :
A game like EF Mod could damage a video card ??? for any reason.

For my part, i'm not using overclocking at all. And i'm using an XPS DELL Gamer.

It seems one of the two video card is out of order, and i'm pretty sure this is a coincidence, but before using EF again, maybe you could save my heart :)

A software (eg. Eastern Front) can not directly damage a video card. It can be cause of indirect damage, but this is like "random". If a card get overheated, it can get damaged, aka indirect damage. Could even been Microsoft Word that made it spill the last drop ;)

1. EF doesn't work with 2.602 currently, you need to wait for 1.4

2. Other than that, try fiddling with the settings a bit, too high or too low can cause graphical errors depending on your card.

Could also be the maps your playing: Zyhotmer (Can't spell it) is known for graphical errors due to the immense amount of objects.

If its a overheading problem, try to set a max frame rate of 100.

It happened to some powerful grafic cards in the game SC2. They did overhead because their frame rate was like 500.

Other than that, you can use only one card to avoid micro stuttering.

What are your PC stats on your gloriuous machine? :)

Thanks a lot to the many many answers.

I confirm one of my two video cards was out of order. Certainly not because of EF, but never say never told me a day someone very wise :)

For the last post, my glorious computer is not so glorious. The truth is the truth, and even XPS can die :)

I used to play anyway in medium configuration for better speed of the game.

I will try again with the new patch, and of course i would be a bad boy if I will not say that you have made an incredible work with this "add on".
And incredible is a very weak word.

Now, time to play., and if I lose another card, I will change of God ;)
