I keep getting rushed by cheap Russian tanks early-mid in the game, and its throwing a wrench in my current strategy. I have been trying to get AT guns but they cant do enough to stop a real rush.
Any quick tips to help out a newbie like me would help :P thx

Try building a flack.
Anyway "a real tank rush" requires a hell lot of resources. So, you should think about the following: what was I doing all that time, when he was building loads of tanks to "rush" me?

Also tank-traps for convoy enemy armours in a forced area where your AT Gun can shoot them. ;)
-
Lots of mines, choose defensive doc, or with PE Luftwaffe and place 88.
And Panzerschreck-teams.....and Panzer IV`s.
I do not even build one AT gun only if I really dig in.
Which tanks? T-70, T34/76? Difficulty setting?

In the current patch, and probably the coming one too, play PE. Use AT HT, tread break to immobilize, then use a marder and snipe the tank from long range. Alternatively, MHT barrage can indirectly kill the tank as well.
Do not rely on shrecks, PaKs, or FlaKs, or any form of AT with infantry crew any time soon. They will be useless for a while to come.

Here is a good plan, play in urban areas, don't fight the Russians in the open (or anyone for that matter). Force them down death alleys, or alleys where they are simply forced to their deaths. If there are bridges for them to use, blow them up! Dig in and prevent them from gaining any rush. Ideally, build MG bunkers or have MG teams in buildings covering your AT guns, and place tanks traps and barb wire along the path you want to kill, and have a mine field behind every path you don't want them going down in case they use heavy tanks.

go on the offensive draw his tanks out early, if only to buy some time, and deny valuable fuel he'l need for tank rush

I say don't put down mines early game vs the Soviets, cause all the blows up is a few conscripts.
