I know this would add major work to the mods, but a thought popped into my head the other day while playing this wonderful map:
The Germans were surrounded. So why do they start on a SIDE of the map?
I come up with a revolutionary idea because most of the maps you see recently just have Allies starting on one side, and Axis starting on another.
What about moving the 4 allies to each of the corners of the map, and then moving the 4 Axis Powers to the Center of the map, to make things more intresting.
Now, it seems like the allies have the major benefit, but I can see good Axis players targeting only 1 Allied player at a time and working their way down.
This suggestion represents a more historical account of the battle, as the Germans were surrounded on both sides, with pressure of Americans in the west and Soviets in the East.
Of course there would be resource re-arranging, but again, it's just an interesting thought.
Feedback from Devs would be awesome!

The developers would probably include it if you or someone made it .
-
However, it is not my map to edit :P
Nor can I run worldbuilder on this thing. It's horribly laggy for worldbuilder.
-
I don't think that is necesary to make that changes. But when playing Berlin in the campaign, that would be made for sure 8).
-
I just think it would be a neat addition since there really arn't any maps designed in unique ways like that. You could roughly say 90% of all maps have a 2 sided game play, while the other 10% have 2 sides but there are starting locations in random areas.

That sounds like an intereseting idea.
Just working on some map updates for EF (some 1v1 have been changed in last patch 1.10 ;))
May there will be also some problems with the mapper of Berlin, but let´s see what will change in the future ;)

it would be awesome also if Germans had theur base behind the Reichstag. So climatic :D
I wonder if making 3vs2 map is possible? would it work?
-
I'm sure it's POSSIBLE, I've experimented with World builder a bit...
But would it be legit? Negative :P
You can set it up 3 V 2, but I doubt the coding would do well, and where would you classify it in game?
Honestly I like the Germans in the Center thing, and with the Ostheer added it would be a sick battle for All Allies VS All Axis.

This sounds like a cool idea.
However i have something else to suggest.
Make the current deployment zones bigger (not by much just a little) so the Panzer elite can deploy all their buildings. as the zones are too small
-
You gunna have to make the map bigger, but otherwise nice idea

I mean that it could be called "last stand" or "defenders":
two guys - let's say axis, are hidden in ruined city, with many and easy ways to defend themselves - blocking roads, creating killzones, hiding in biuldings, and so one.they also controll 3/4 of map VP, while attackers - soviets in this case have only one VP. Attackers are supposed to capture the part of town, and secure at least 2 Vp, to allow them have dominacy. However assaulting fortifed city is dangerous. Game should be played only for VPs, as the defenders have no chances to destroy enemys bases.
We had in history many last stands - Stalingrad, Moscow, Kharkov, Kursk... And when tide has turned, all those festungs like Posen, Breslau, and finally Berlin. That would be awesome to fight to last men against outnumbering enemy.

hmm last stand.. new operations? :D
that would be sick!
-
why not? there aren't any operations with soviets...
-
However, the twitter feed bleaped that into it's stream somehow
