Title: [Solved]Port forwarding in EF
Post by: Gsus on January 21, 2010, 11:50:44 PM
Hello there,
great job on the mod! Really like it.

But I have a problem with the network connectivity:
We have 2 PCs behind one router and want to play at the same time. We solved this problem with original CoH by forwarding my ports on the CoH shortcut: (looks like this)

"C:\Games\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -nomovies -port 65183

With eastern front, there is only the EF Launcher exe ?!? When I apply the same parameter to this exe it won't work as a consequence i'll face NAT error etc in the game.

Is there any way to solve this?
Any exe that directly launches the game?

Greetings from Germany!

Hey,

I have the same issue and I'm glad that I'm not alone with those troubles...
I live in a shared-flat where I sometimes play some fancy CoH with my flat-mate.
As Gsus already mentioned, there is a way to forward CoH on a specific port, with the "-port" command added in a shortcut, so that I have a portrange for my CoH forwards, and my mate a portrange for his own forwarding when we share the internet behind the same gateway.
Since EF is started with a launcher, I guess there is no way to specify a port like in a shortcut ?
I hope you guys can help us out,
thx in advance

You can add "-mod Eastern_Front -dev" to the launch command to simulate the launcher.

Please note you must run the launcher while patch.
