EF 2v2 AT Tournament 1
« on: August 31, 2010, 02:06:38 PM »
That's right, the first EasternFront.org tournament is officially announced! So grab a co-commander, polish those boots and get ready to wage war.

Signups are now CLOSED!

TOURNEY BRACKET:

Format: 2v2AT - Swiss* (1pt per win) number of rounds TBA - One game per round (500VPs, standard resources) - Top 2 scoring teams after all rounds play a final, best of 3 series, to decide the winner - Factions and Maps are to be decided between the players. If a decision cannot be reached, contact a referee and a coin flip will decide.

*Swiss Tourney - Similar to a round robin format, you will never be knocked out of the tourney but instead earn points based off the number of games you win. Teams that lose in the first round will play each other and teams that win will play each other. This ensures everyone has the most evenly skilled matches possible. The two teams with the most points after all rounds will play out the final.

Factions allowed: Soviet Union, US, Wehrmacht and Panzer Elite.

START TIME: 18:00 GMT (20:00 CET) 11th September. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, or arrange your first round game before this time, or you risk disqualification due to delays.

If you are unhappy with this start time leave a message and, if we can work out a new time that everyone is happy with, we'll go with that. The time will not be changed after the Thursday before the tourney.

Use the following timer to set your clocks and take into account daylight savings in your country. Link not working? Copy it to your browser address bar.

http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?day=11&month=9&year=2010&hour=18&min=&sec=&p0=0

Match results:
Post all match results in this thread! (including replays). Your game will be forfeit if you, or your opponent (if he's nice enough) are unable to provide a replay. Screenshots are not required.

Please name your replays appropriately so it is easy to identify them. Use the following format:

Round No.: Team 1 vs Team 2

Eg.
Round 2: GodlikeDennis/EFAllActionNoPlot vs Retake3/ColonelLiberachi

You may also post them on GR and simply provide a link to them if you wish (using the same naming format).

A crash/disconnect will only mean a replayed game if you are ahead of schedule or if the game had only just started. If you are not, a coin flip will decide. If one team was clearly winning, an appeal MAY be requested quickly by a referee. Send the replay to them and they will decide a clear winner or choose one based off a coin toss. If you are unsure of what to do, contact a referee immediately.

Restrictions:
The only maps allowed are:
Duclair
Etavaux
Linden
Lorraine
McGechaen's War
Pointe du Hoc
Rails and Metal
St. Hilaire
Wolfheze
Kursk
Tannenburg

You must have the latest version of EF to play. It is currently 1.23.2

Prizes:
Fun
Bragging Rights!

To avoid NAT errors, please check your connection to Relic Online:
- start COH, login
- press alt-tab
- open web page: http://www.canyouseeme.org
- test ports 6112 & 30260
- if the test fails, you must open the ports in your router & software firewall.. see http://portforward.com for configuration of different brands of routers.
Note: If during the tournament you still can't connect to your opponent, there is an option to use hamachi. Download here: http://hamachi.brothersoft.com/hamachi1.0.1.5

Please check your connection BEFORE the tourney begins. If you still have difficulties after following these steps, visit the following thread:

http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=4456.0

All the action will be in the Play CoH Mods chat channel & this thread. Try to be there 15 minutes in advance to avoid delays or even disqualification. If life gets in the way of this momentous event, please advise me (via PM) as early as possible. If you are not sure you can play, sign up as a reserve team instead.

I would advise voice chat programs (such as teamspeak or ventrilo) to teams so that they may communicate more effectively.

If you would like to play in the tourney but don't have a partner, post your name in this thread, followed by -teamless to allow me to find you a partner. Someone else may also feel free to offer to be your partner. If you don't have a partner for certain, I cannot guarantee that you will be allowed to play in the tourney.

At least one member from each team should add myself (GodlikeDennis) to his/her Relic Online friends list. Type /addfriend GodlikeDennis into chat to add me. You will also be required to add any other referee, should there be one.

Dragon has volunteered to be a referee [RO: EFDevDragon93]

You think so? I was tossing up whether or not to allow it. We'll include US then.

I think cairnelwizard is my panther, reserve it unless he says something otherwise. I have no idea if my ports are good or not and the website didn't help much so I downloaded hamachi, hopefully that would help. Also the chat channel should be "Play COH mods" for 2 good reasons.

1. It is the official EF Channel many EF players are on.
2. It dosent have lots of players, so it should reduce confusion.

Good luck everyone, but beware! Am going to win those bragging rights!

Seeme and CranialWizard, are those the actual relic online names you have? Not retake3 etc.?

There's not really any confusion but if it bothers you it can be changed.
