Conscripts.
« on: January 24, 2010, 07:58:21 AM »
Is it possible to assign the extra 4 conscripts who don't have a weapon a blank weapon model which has normal range and the weapon does no damage nor has any animations so that the additional 4 conscripts don't charge enemies?

Very good point as those weaponless conscripts just keep on charging out of cover, making them even bigger cannon fodder than they actually are -.-

Abuse is abuse and has to go.

Good idea. Maybe they can do that thing Clint Eastwood did in Gran Torino with his fingers.

I'm more concerned about having them get a rifle when one of the riflemen die. As it is, when a rifleman dies, then you only have 3 riflemen and 4 unarmed. If all the riflemen die, then you just have a squad without weapons.

I think the rifle should go to the next person when the owner dies, just like larger weapons (LMG42, Panzerschreck, etc) get moved to another squad member when the user dies.

Yeah that would be realistic too - remember at the battle of Stalingrad when they gave 1 soldier a rifle and 1 soldier a clip of ammo, and told him to pick up the rifle when the first guy died

I really quite like the conscripts too, especially in a 3v3 or 4v4 when you can build up quite a large force of them for just 1 mp cost per unit once they are upgraded. I garrison every house on the map, then move onto open green cover, then keep building them and charging them into the enemy base for a disposable diversion
